$25,000 of marijuana seized in Tewksbury raid

In Rio de Janeiro, former presidents César Gaviria of Colombia, Ernesto Zedillo of Mexico and Fernando Enrique Cardoso of Brazil – all heads of state that had presided over prohibitionist policies in their lands – issued a joint report together with various Latin American intellectuals: Drugs and Democracy: Toward a Paradigm Shift. Calling current drug policies “a failed war,” the former presidents concluded: “…it is imperative to rectify the “war on drugs” strategy pursued in the region over the past 30 years. “Prohibitionist policies based on the eradication of production and on the disruption of drug flows as well as on the criminalization of consumption have not yielded the expected results… “Current drug repression policies are firmly rooted in prejudices, fears and ideological visions. The whole issue has become taboo which inhibits public debate. The association of drugs with crime blocks the circulation of information and segregates drug users in closed circles where they become even more exposed to organized crime. “Hence, breaking the taboo and acknowledging the failure of current policies and their consequences is the inescapable prerequisite for opening up the discussion about a new paradigm leading to safer, more efficient and humane drug policies…” excerpt was taken from: http://www.narcone icle3393.html  (Feb 12, 2009 | post #246)

Legalizing would help save the economy, the environment, and people's health. It is a miracle "herb" that has far more medicinal benefits than it does harm. In fact, not ONE PERSON, EVER RECORDED IN HISTORY, has DIED from an overdose. Marijuana is safer THAN ASPIRIN. It is safer than ANY PHARMACEUTICAL drug that has been approved by the FDA. A little research will go a long way. I used to be a non-believer. I, too, fed into the lies & propaganda. Now I know not to believe everything our government tells us. Please, I urge you to look into the medicinal benefits of this miracle drug. There are people who truly benefit from its medicinal properties, maybe even YOU. There are far more dangerous drugs out there- drugs that are prescribed to CHILDREN- approved by OUR GOVERNMENT.  (Feb 11, 2009 | post #243)

The Clumsy President

I don't think a president has more clumsy footage than Dubya!!! Now THAT guy is a MAJOR Klutz!!! In terms of klutziness, Obama couldn't hold a candle to his predecessor!  (Feb 11, 2009 | post #10)

Not in public please

Haha! I'm so glad gay people have more rights than they did even 10 years ago. I hope all the gay-haters die off soon :) They are becoming the minority these days (thank GOD). I hate people who hate people based on race/creed/gender/ sexual preference.... rather I hate it WHEN people hate- I have a good friend who doesn't agree with the homosexual lifestyle, but he would never mistreat them or call them names (to there faces!)  (Feb 11, 2009 | post #102)
