Teen appeals murder conviction

of course he is. Anyone who is convicted of first-degree murder, or ANY form of murder is going to try and appeal. They will probably appeal for multiple years, until they exhaust all avenues of appeal. Nothing new here.. move along people.  (Dec 15, 2010 | post #1)

You seem to be a very angry little person...very insultive. Is this what YOU learned in kindergarten? hmmm. Maybe you need to learn how to debate an issue. The fact remains that if you can't afford it, then use half-day. period. My children went to half day kindergarten. They are also college graduates and are gainfully employed. If they choose to have my grandchildren attend a full day kindergarten, they can afford it themselves. Not once have they asked me to fund any of their children's activities or needs. They make their own way. Maybe you should try that. From reading your posts, I can tell that may be difficult for you, but go ahead and give it the college try! A grant is money provided to the City for a specific purpose that does not have to be paid back, however, some grants require the city to provide a match in the form of cash. Since you are so gung-ho for this, why don't you step up to the plate and volunteer your time to write these grants, and follow them up until Dracut recieves one? Or is that just too much to ask?  (Sep 25, 2010 | post #81)

Daughter of slain N.H. woman may testify

I believe that the death penalty option was ruled out. The most they can get is life without parole.  (Sep 24, 2010 | post #6)

ohhh, hit a nerve, did I? Get over yourself. The fact is, kindergarten skills can be taught by the parent. Good parents actually LIKE to teach their children. Regardless of how you feel about it, there are things in this life that you have to pay for yourself. If you can't afford full-day then utilize the half-day program and teach your child at home. Period.  (Sep 24, 2010 | post #74)

It wouldn't be my responsiblity to pay for schooling for my grandchild and it is pretty pathetic that you would turn to your own parents and guilt them into it. If you can't afford full-day Kindergarten, then put them in half-day and teach them at home as well....School is not there as a babysitter. Kindergarten is not that important, people. Teach your child at home - don't play the guilt card.  (Sep 22, 2010 | post #63)

Daughter of slain N.H. woman may testify

ok, this is a tactic to keep the family members out of the courtroom during testimony. I hear about this happening all the time. By calling them as a 'witness', they can't be in the courtroom for anything but their own testimony so that it can't be said that the testimony was tainted by what they heard someone else say. it is common. I just hope that if they DO use this poor girl's testimony, they do a taped version, and don't subject her to facing this animal.  (Sep 22, 2010 | post #4)

Mom turns son in for Billerica robbery after seeing YouTu...

Way to go Mom! This is an example EVERYONE should take. Our society has a bad habit of coddling and protecting our children to an unhealthy extent! It has created a new breed of kids for sure. Teach your kids to take responsiblity for their actions! That is what this mom did. Great job. I hope more mom's follow suit!  (Aug 25, 2010 | post #43)

Mother charged in baby's slaying

what a sick individual. Look around people. This isn't the first 'teen' that has had kids with multiple partners, lives off of state money, food stamps, medical...keeps popping kids out and has no intention of bettering themselves. This won't be the last baby to be hurt or killed by it's parent/parents. As a society, we need to do something about this! We need to stop catering to these young kids. They need to be taught how to deal with children, stress, work, money, life...We may not create the problem, but our current programs don't solve the problem either. There is way to many babies dying over things like this. The trouble is, the cycle repeats itself over and over and over. The parents of this mother are also to blame for this outcome. They did a poor job raising their own child and certainly didn't teach her what she needed to know. Otherwise, this type of thing would have never happened. RIP Kaydn - and to all of the other victims of parental homicide.  (Aug 22, 2010 | post #93)

Unappealing day in court on traffic ticket protest

I have actually had a ticket overturned in court. It can be done...you just have to show complete proof... In my case, we took pictures of the ENTIRE road from Billerica through the Lowell line and there were NO speed limit signs except the one across the street that said 45MPH...they said my husband was going 33 in a 30 ...hmmm....NOT we won with no fines  (Aug 17, 2010 | post #106)

lol, no assistance needed, I just haven't been on in quite awhile. We had a tragedy happen last September, my 5 year old grandson fell out of a window and passed away from his injuries shortly after, and so I haven't been online much. Just wondering if you were the same person or not :)  (Aug 6, 2010 | post #60)

DA, Lowell police: Details in stabbing murders of two wom...

Of course the police didn't give more details...this is a MURDER investigation, not a ballet recital... I don't feel the police department did anything wrong in this case. They are SUPPOSED to keep the iformation they get to themselves. That's how they match up victim and witness' testimonies. If everything they new was in the paper, how could you be sure that what the witness stated was true or just tainted by what they read??  (Aug 4, 2010 | post #17)
