I can probably make it at noon, how muddy was the track?  (Feb 17, 2013 | post #11)

I don't know if they are really working on it or not. That black tubing was from before, they pulled it so they could redo the track, maybe they'll put it back into place but since its been setting off to the side for almost a year I kind of doubt it. The dirt/sand is for the baseball fields, they just use the RC parking lot for storage since its the least used. I am going to contact parks and rec in order to get permission to cut down the trees on the rock crawler area before they get out of control. The track needs built up so it isn't so muddy all the time but that would probably take lots of dirt and a front loader/back hoe which would cost a lot to rent. If we got a RC club going we could appeal to local businesses to help fund such a project but we would also need lots of members. Also some metal stands need to be built so we could have competitions out there, its difficult to race your RC truck from ground level. I think if we built it they would come, racers & spectators alike however we probably need to raise about $50k in improvement capital. I think Columbia needs this because they certainly don't need the 20 something youth sitting at home playing violent video games all day, they need healthier forms of entertainment that everyone can enjoy where they can meet other people in the process and get a little sun. The RC club was going to build a asphalt track on the flat area out there however that never happened either, too bad. I wish I was rich and didn't have to work 50 hrs a week, that would be the first thing I would do! Anyhow we could try and regularly meet out there on Sundays this Summer, maybe if we run our trucks for half the day we can slowly draw some interest and maybe get a club going.  (Jan 21, 2013 | post #7)

The Traxxas Stampede is a good choice for an off-road basher, I have one as well as a Slash 4x4 for racing. Yes lets definitely meet up out there and check out the condition of the track, hopefully its not too muddy! I'll PM you.  (Jan 20, 2013 | post #5)
