Hello forkup, I had to have 5 extractions yesterday on my upper mouth. Somehow 4 of my teeth cracked. I am not sure how...one time my dog caught me good in the mouth with his head I don't know if that could have done it or not. Two of my teeth had infections right below my left sinus which I have had infections for years in that one sinus. Where the teeth were cracked is where the bridge failed and the front two crowns kept coming off so this may have been the cause of the problems. Dr. Marco was great as usual. The first day when I heard all this I was crying and very upset he sat down and coddled me and told me everything was going to be fine. I was truly not expecting all of this happening this time. My four implants are still perfect five years later. He really likes the all Zirconia implants and is thinking about asking the company if they can give him a break on the pricing. They are much more expensive but he said 0 bone loss and they look as good as when he put them in. If I had the money at this time I would get more of those implants. Times are a bit rough for us financially. Today he will be putting in some of the other implants not sure how much it will be IDr. Marco tells me not to worry about that . Anything will have to go on credit and I don't want to take years to pay it off. I know he does right by his patients. I will have to come back again for the teeth. Dr. Marco has said he will not charge anything for the teeth and is going to take good care of me. Many changes have occurred in his office since my last time here four years ago in Costa Rica. I will update later this tonight or tomorrow about the visit. I am not in much pain for having all those extractions yesterday.  (Thursday Feb 16 | post #7961)

I am back in Costa Rica at this time. I thought it was going to be a quick fix at the dentist office for a crown and a bridge. Tomorrow five root canals, one extraction which I will need another implant for all on the upper teeth and will more than likely have to come back. I thought I was done with all of this four years ago so it was a bit of a shock. I brought my 17 year old down this time...my youngest. We will be doing some site seeing. Honestly I was not expecting this. Dr. Marco assured me he wants to do it right. Other dentist are taking care of the root canals. It seems like I have already had enough of those not to have anymore done. I am going to check with my American dentist to see if they claim they have done any of those teeth in the past. They better not have and charged me or else they will be before the dental board.  (Tuesday Feb 14 | post #645)

I am here in Costa Rica. Is anyone from this forum here at this time? Yikes tomorrow five root canals, one extraction and all of my crowns gone need to be redone now. I was very surprised upon arriving as I thought I was going to get one 3 crown bridge fixed and one two crown bridge on my front tooth fixed and some porcelain on a back tooth. I had no idea it was going to be such a huge ordeal. Dr. Marco assured me that he wants it done right. With the extraction I will need another implant as it will collapse my bite and I will have more problems in the future without it. I am on a tight budget this time. I thought everything done four years ago would be in longer. I brought my youngest daughter for some sight seeing and this is her first time out the country. Will update on this thread later.  (Tuesday Feb 14 | post #7958)

I am sorry that I have not been on this thread for so long. For some reason I am not getting the updates when people post. I also have no laptop at this time. My teeth are doing fine. At one point maybe around 8 months ago I did have a crown come off when I was using the water pick. I had the permanent crown cement that I bought from Dr. Marco's and I just put it back on. No problem since and no trip back to Costa Rica to get my crown put back on. One day I do hope to make it back to Costa Rica. I do not regret going there for my dental work I think it was one the best decisions I have made. Best Wishes to all. Ms. K, No problems with my implants. Metal problems may become more profound because of all the things we now have flowing in our airwaves. I do not the ability of it to impact what type of metals or which ones are more receptors. I hope you find a solution.  (Sep 23, 2014 | post #631)

Thank you Greg for your post. If you live in Arizona and are not concerned about the crime in Mexico it may be less costly to go there. I am not sure. Just really do your homework as I have heard good and bad stories from Mexico dental travel. Best Wishes to you in your adventure and getting the smile you desire.  (Nov 7, 2013 | post #583)

Thank you so very much for that update. To me it is comforting to know that the Dr. Marco and Dr. Cavallini still stand behind their work and still back their work. Problems can and do occur with any dentist. This was also one of the important reasons why I wanted to go to this clinic. They seem to keep their word. Please do keep us updated on your progress. Best wishes to you my friend  (Nov 7, 2013 | post #582)

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted. I am so happy to read of success stories of those who have wonderful happy, healthy smiles. KP Patel, So sorry to hear about your problems. Did you get the travelers insurance? I would definitely contact Dr. Marco and let him know what is happening with your implants. So far mine are doing fine. Could they replace the whole six crowns? I believe I have some of the one piece crowns also. Please do follow up and let us know how Dr. Marco is handling your problems. Let us know if the problem is resolved to your satisfaction or not. I hope they will take good care of you. Jerry, It sounds as if though you are very busy. Best wishes to you in your travels.  (Nov 2, 2013 | post #570)

KPPatel, I would ask Dr. Marco about transportation and see if he can do something to help with the hotel cost. Maybe he could cut you a good deal if you stay at the clinic. Email Dr. Marco I did not have the insurance because when I asked Diana about it she did not know anything about it. Sorry you are having this problem. I bought some permanent cement in the event I ever have a crown fall off. I had that happen with my crown and work in the states and no one would just clean it up and put it back on. I told dentist I would sign for the responsibility but I wanted it on since I was running in an election and they wanted to do more than what I asked for. I do not want to be in that spot ever again. If it falls off for any reason I can cement it back on until I have the work done. Please keep us updated on how this is being taken care of.  (Jun 5, 2013 | post #491)

Oh Oh! I have been eating popcorn. Last time at the movie theater it was terrible we did not even finish it. I had not read not to eat popcorn. Maybe I need to look into that.  (Jun 2, 2013 | post #477)

KPPatel, So glad you got your problem resolved. Sorry I was not any help. I use either Listerine or Plax mouthwash and put some in my waterpic water. Did the dentist say what the difference in the implants they use here are? I know we have not been doing the one step implants that long here in the states. Just curious. I know I have sent X-rays of my implants to two U.S. dentist they did not even know that Zirconia implants existed.  (May 29, 2013 | post #473)
