Uh, no, I said the paper has to have credibility, not a crack proofreading division. (Tuesday Dec 22 | post #77)

The City Journal? For real? What's the matter? Couldn't find a source with even a shred of credibility? (Sunday Dec 20 | post #60)

1. Your first link is from '04. Additionally, I never made the claim that Kurds were not supportive of the U.S. effort. My comments have only been about the current state of Iraqi, not just Kurdish, opinion on U.S. military involvement in their country. 2. I'd rather be viewed as immature by the ever-so-high minded and civil users of the Santa Cruz Sentinel Topix Forum than be a droll, dithering idiot like yourself. Apparently e-reputation matters a little more to yourself than I. 3. I love how the second article that you partially quote, when read in its entirety, offers the opinion that the predominant national feeling in Iraq is that they feel like we've compromised their sovereignty, occupied their country, and will probably never truly leave. Like I said, thanks for proving my point. P.S. I'm certainly not hateful. Angry, maybe. But not at you. In reality, your perception that I'm angry/hateful is based on your own subjective application of emotional connotation to the words I write. If you don't take yourself so seriously, I won't seem so angry to you, I guarantee. But then again, you've already shown a certain proclivity towards melodrama, so maybe there's just no hope. P.P.S. Yes, I always call people names. Boo hoo. (Thursday Dec 17 | post #163)

I know it **** to be wrong. Actually, in this case I have no idea what it feels like. But your response, at the very least, gives me a hint. You might as well have just wrote "I'm having trouble admitting that I had no clue what I was talking about so I'm just gonna be nonsensical and see if that works!" You sure you don't watch Fox News? (Sunday Dec 13 | post #149)

P.S. You do realize Blackwater lost its contract with the State Department for killing Iraqi civilians, right? Or were you so busy not watching Fox News that you missed that one too? (Sunday Dec 13 | post #147)

"...a significant portion of the Iraqi population wants the Blackwater and the US to be there." All I'm saying is that statement is completely off-base, factually speaking. Goooogle. (Sunday Dec 13 | post #146)
Board fails to pass PCS diversity proposal
You're not teaching anyone here anything, thanks. If your daughter was truly accepted to PCS as you claim and you actually attended the lottery drawing, you would know that the lottery numbers are drawn via a random number generating program on a computer. I could be wrong, but I don't think AI is advanced enough yet for the computer to divine only the numbers held by upper middle class white kids whose parents have lots of free time and money. As far as the money and time issue, many kids attend PCS for the full 6 years without their parents donating anywhere near the full amounts of time or money. Again, the lottery by nature precludes any discrimination on this basis anyway. You claim that many do not apply because they know they won't make it academically? Good! PCS is and always has been an academically rigorous school for kids who want to devote 6 years to pre-collegiate and collegiate level study in a small, individualized environment. If you can't hang with that, PCS probably isn't the school for you. But guess what? That's ok because PCS isn't designed to be a public school like Santa Cruz High. The concept you seem to not be understanding is that PCS is a public charter school, meaning that it has a specific mission (or "charter " right, teach?) that it looks to fulfill. In this case, that mission serving all students who want to leave high school fully prepared for a 4 year university and who want to dedicate serious time and effort towards that goal. If that's what you want out of high school, enter the lottery and hope you get a spot. If that's not what you want out of high school, then don't choose PCS, choose the high school that fits you or your child's needs. It's simple enough. Interesting theory though, teach. I suppose in some opposite-land Bizzaro world the Iraqi population want the military, let alone mercenaries to be on their streets. However, in reality where the rest of us live, all the opinion polling coming out of Iraq has consistently for over two years now shown that a plurality, oftentimes a majority, of Iraqis want the occupation to end. Unlike on your favorite Fox programs, in the real world things don't become truth simply because you say them loudly and couple them with charges of anti-Americanism and other jingoistic nonsense. Board fails to pass PCS diversity proposal
I sincerely hope you're not educating young, malleable minds if this post truly represents the full range of your critical thinking abilities. Let me help you. You claim that you want "public schools to include all that are living in my community." PCS uses a random lottery. To enter the lottery, one must merely fill out an application. The applications are available, in more than language, for free to all in the community. If people in the community aren't being represented at PCS, logic would tell us that it's either because they're not entering the lottery or they're realizing, like many parents, that when there are 40 spaces for kids and 500 applications in the mix, sometimes your number just doesn't come up. Think, educator, think. (Saturday Dec 12 | post #130)
