No. When the parents don't do it, you put them in the chair and pull the switch. The children then have to go to a shelter or foster care and they will get better treatment there than they got from their very own parent(s). When parents have a though of not feeding their children and/or not even thinking of their children, they will think twice when they know they will sit in a chair only one more time. That way it is the trash parent(s) that are influential to others that might think like them.  (Yesterday | post #13)

I believe if we must teach Christianity in school, we then also need to teach Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Confucianism, Taoism, "witchcraftis m".........th e subject of History in our schools is already so malnourished that including all or any of this is a waste in our schools.  (Saturday Dec 19 | post #6)

This was somebody wanting people to feel sorry for him and he was stupid enough to point his gun police officers and in self defense, one of the officers shot him. Could you find the place that lighteredknot said anything about not feeding the children and then point it out? I am unable to see that. I DO see him stating that these parents should make breakfast and lunch for these kids. If they are unable to teach these kids how to spread butter, jelly, peanut butter....on toast, they need to take a parental class. And then lunch in a paper bag was also mentioned. Do you know what that is? I certainly remember them in the early days of school was my family was struggling. A sandwich, fruit, piece if cake/brownie, a drink in a Thermos. Yes, I know, that would mean "work" for these parents in either teaching their children how to do this or actually go clear out of their way and spend 10 minutes of fives days every week doing it FOR their children. They could actually do this WITH their children and that would be spending 8 minutes more with their children more than normal. Why did the Atlanta Firefighters have to do anything?! TAXPAYERS are paying them, not the criminals. The guards simply should have handed glasses of water (SMALL glasses) through the bars to prisoners letting the prisoners fight it. It was the driver's responsibility as far as having those other kids in the car with her. It is also her responsibility to tell people "If you are riding with me, you are wearing your seatbelt." And the injuries/deaths to these passengers aren't the only thing she is being charged for. She was also driving carelessly while these "friends " were in the car. Something that I believe is common with both kids and adults and the driver needs to pay for it. I also personally feel that this is to a degree a fault of her parents in not getting it through to her to listen to laws.  (Wednesday Dec 16 | post #6)

Maybe at one time or another he was a good person. But at this point in time, he is a druggie with a, as you say crack whore wife whom HE chose. And like George said, HE decided to stay with her AND allow the child to be with her. That was/is the largest sin in this situation. I too have had a lot of sh*t in my life. I too have had thoughts of suicide linger in my head on occasions. I am happy to say my strength made the better decision each time. There is ALWAYS people that have things 10X worse than you. When I first saw this story a couple days ago, I thought "FINALLY! Justice is served!', at least until I read about the innocent mother and son. That worthless and most likely was driving in opposing traffic from Woodstock to John's Creek and 7-8 police saw him but figured "I'll wait until I get called to the crash he causes and HOPEfully everyone will be alright."  (Sunday Dec 13 | post #1)
