"The Safety Team"

After reviewing about 30 videos, I would say they were fairly accurate 60% of the time, 10% it was 50/50 right, but 30% was just dead wrong, and just as with the person making the video it is a judgment call.  (Dec 28, 2014 | post #4)

here is my question, how do you assume that? your making an assumption that the driver followed volpe. how do you know Volpe was not intentionally impeading the driver. as the driver said "there was a time we were doing 35 on the highway", " so that shows Volpe was infact impeading traffic on an interstate. why was there no video of the entire inncident? he had a mounted cam so there was no exscuse why he turned off the cam.  (Dec 17, 2014 | post #409)

I checked out the site and watched a few of the videos, for the most part, they were accurate, but a couple of them, were at best questionable. as in the first video. for instance when that driver passed the filming truck, before he made his move to change lanes he not only used his turn signal he gave a good solid 3 car lengths before he made his move. during and after his lane change he continued to pull away from the filming truck. that means his lane changed in no way posed a safety hazard. if he had slowed down during the lane change it would have been a different situation. as for " The failure to yield right of way" there is no way to determine when those cars got behind him, they could have followed him from the right lane to the left lane to make the pass on a slower truck. and as soon as he got past the truck he in fact changed lanes in order not to slow up faster moving traffic.  (Dec 17, 2014 | post #408)

"The Safety Team"

I checked out their Site to see who and what they are, and the first video I saw was "UFI Transportation LLC" List of Violations they said this truck did. 392.2LC Improper And Unsafe Lane Change 392.2Y Failure To Yield right Of Way 392.2r Reckless Driving Both Incidents Same Truck Same Driver. Watch the video and see what you think. please note the speed he has shown in KPH not MPH .. First claim: "392.2LC Improper And Unsafe Lane Change" both times this truck changed lanes he not only gave reasonably good clearance he used his turn signal both occaisions. second claim: 392.2Y Failure To Yield right Of Way Both times he passd the slower truck he moved over to allow faster traffic to pass. so where is the failure to yield? Third Claim: 392.2r Reckless Driving since the first two claims were baseless what was the third claim based on?  (Dec 15, 2014 | post #2)

So what can be done to Joseph Volpe? what that fool did he did to him self. even his own videos show him tailgating, speeding, irratic driving in a lane. illegally holding up traffic in the left lane so he can play with his camera to take video.. add distrated driving, that man broke more laws doing his videos then most of the trucks he filmed. it is funny, that the man he claims tried to run him off the road, why was there no video of that? Volpe had filmed that driver for miles but has no video of the driver trying to run him off the road. and if he had video proving it, why was the driver not charged? Volpe is a hack who spouts unsupported facts. over and over Volpe made baseless statements that were proven to be false , the real facts got posted with links to the facts by Myself and a couple other drivers.. Volpe is clueless on what CSA is and what it's purpose is. anytime he wishes to debate the facts, compared to his tiny reality I will more then happy to do so.  (Dec 15, 2014 | post #405)

so are all truck drives complete worthless failures

again you spout more baseless stats, post a reputable link to your stats. as for OOIDA fighting CSA i got news for ya ( http://www.landlin emag.com/Story.asp x?StoryID=28112 ) (Joining the ever-building wave of opposition to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s publicly viewable safety rating system, CSA, is a group that may surprise some – the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance. The international organization of local, state provincial, territorial and federal motor carrier enforcement officials sent a letter to U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx that urges the FMCSA to pull CSA’s scores from public view) ( http://www-nrd.nht sa.dot.gov/Pubs/81 1856.pdf ) table 7 clearly shows Total 3,921 Persons Killed in Large-Truck Crashes in 2012. BUT the death per mile million miles driven has gone down.  (Dec 1, 2014 | post #10)

Free Training for your CDL

Since the poster of post #228 did not take the time to post what is needed to qualify for WIA Grants I will post it for him. How to Apply to Workforce Investment Act Grants 1 Meet the basic requirements to apply for the training and WIA grant. You must be either a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident. Applicants must have been laid off, with no opportunity to be rehired to receive a training grants. 2 Evaluate your current skills. Anyone having difficulty finding a new job due to inadequate skills is eligible for the WIA grant. 3 Register for selective service in a WIA program. Male applicants age 18 to 26 must be registered to be eligible for the WIA grant (see Resources). Apply for the WIA 4 Visit a One-Stop Career Center (see Resources). Express interest in the WIA grant and ask about a waiting list. Most career centers maintain waiting lists for WIA applicants and will assign these applicants to WIA case workers as they become available. The wait may last several weeks. 5 Use the core services, which include outreach services, job searches, placement assistance and labor market information. As part of the Workforce Investment Act, One-Stop Career Centers offer these services. 6 Begin the "Intensive " phase. Your case worker will take you through this phase, which includes preparing your application, assessing your career and making an employment plan. 7 Provide documents to support your application. You will need to show your driver’s license, Social Security card, birth certificate or passport, notification of your layoff, notice of eligibility for unemployment insurance, a completed job application and a resume. 8 Use the WIA training services. Once you have received approval for your WIA grant, select a training provider and begin occupational training. .  (Nov 1, 2014 | post #230)

No one has argued that there are bad drivers out there. but maybe if companies put more time and money in to training then maybe things will change for the better. the new HOS are a joke and need to be scrapped, return to the old HOS, while they were not perfect they were proving to work. the constant improving of the safety record, year after year proved that. you can adjust rules, without trashing a working set of rules. first thing they need to do is set a standard of these puppy mill style training schools. teach the students not ramrod them through in 4 to 6 weeks. anyone who has never driven a tractor trailer who says they are a professional driver after 6 weeks in a puppy mill training school are fools and or idiots.  (May 25, 2014 | post #393)

that you would have to ask the DMV. I am sure a letter from the DR will be needed to show compliance.  (May 11, 2014 | post #175)

65mph speed limit

Actually that is not the case, Truck maufacturers have optimum fuel saving based between 63 to 67 miles per hour. the old standard of fuel savings of 55 went out in the late 80's early 90's.  (May 1, 2014 | post #17)
