The World Will End On May 21, 2011

There is no doubt in the fact that one day the earth will come to an end. And the main reason for it, is the growing temperature of the earth's crust and the atmospheric heat. But I don't think we can assign a particular date to it ,because no one can predict the future.I do believe on God's existence and also on the ultimate truth that one who is born has to die one day but none knows about it when will that time come.  (May 17, 2011 | post #11666)

Is Sugar the Culprit for Increases in Diabetes Rates? Map...

Not exactly sugar is the the culprit for Increases in Diabetes Rates ,but if a person is suffering from diabetes then he is restricted to take sugar. Various reasons are there which causes diabetes like heredity , BMI ,improper sugar metabolism due to lack or excess of natural insulin from pancreas, and hormones like glucagon are responsible for it.So sugar is not the only cause of diabetes.  (May 16, 2011 | post #3)

Nuclear Power - Pocahontas, AR

There is no doubt that Nuclear power plants emit relatively low amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2)in comparison to the emissions of other plants and green house ,as it uses uranium instead of fossil fuels like coal and petroleum .Therefore the contribution of nuclear power plants to global warming is relatively little. But side wise its demerits cannot be overlooked. The waste from nuclear energy is extremely dangerous and it has to be carefully looked after for several thousand years. It is technically impossible to build a plant with 100% security. The consequences of an accident would be absolutely devastating for both the humanbeing and nature. During the operation of nuclear power plants, radioactive waste is produced which is very hard to dispose. And exposure to such radiation can can make people badly sick and eventually kill them . The energy source for nuclear energy is Uranium, which is a scarce resource, and is going to last for 30 to 60 years depending on the actual demand. Then after that what would be the future of Nuclear Energy? Considering all the facts nuclear power plant is definitely more efficient and reliable but still while building new plants all the possible safety measures should be taken so that it will not cause any damage to mankind and nature.  (May 10, 2011 | post #9)

Smoking-violation fines go unpaid

Smoking is banned is countries but why people are still smoking?I don't think if a person will be charged with a huge fine he will stop to smoke,by charging fine the government is only increasing its fund . I think instead of charging mere fines on smoking the government should try to create awareness among the people and make them understand about the bad effects of smoking and if this doesn't work it could take some strong actions against the smokers. And not only this the companies that are manufacturing these products and the retail outlets those are selling it should be banned first. Because until and unless we understand the seriousness and tragic end of smoking no one could force us to quit .  (May 9, 2011 | post #4)
