Mormons: We are Christians, too

Could it really be true? Hannah has taken to ridiculing the faith of others?  (Sep 29, 2009 | post #14698)

This is an opinion posted on another thread: Patrick wrote: It's not the people, who are trying to believe the truth that we oppose, it's that monolithic organization in SLC. While YOU may be very charitable, your organization's leadership is definately NOT. It's a HUGE corporation. It only provides help when publicity is assured for the good deed. The LDS Church has invested billions of dollars into stocks, land, etc that it could have used for charity. ALL of the upper leadership are powerful business people, not highly spiritual. A HUGE chunk of your tithe money goes to business investments, NOT Katrina victims, etc. Remember this when you are sitting in your tithe review meeting with your Bishop hoping that you can stay worthy to go to the Temple. http://www.topix.c om/forum/phoenix/T TF0AULKQM5MIKHG6/p 129#lastPost It seems that many people have poor opinion of the church. I would think than an organization so intent on 'spreading their word' would spend some time on what their church looks like to the outside world  (Sep 29, 2009 | post #14694)

While this is only my opinion, the reasons seem to have something to do with Utah being 'their world'.Mormons make the laws, and they say which laws to enforce. They have control over anything they want including censorship. While mormons living in the rest of the world seem to have found ways to adapt their way of doing things in order to function with the rest of society.  (Sep 29, 2009 | post #14690)

You shouldn't speak the truth to loud, the mormons don't seem to like it much  (Sep 29, 2009 | post #14680)

I think that God, if there is one, would like it a lot, if you confessed to your mistakes (sins) about one time..and made a diligent effort to not repeat the same mistakes.. i would think God, if there is one, might get a little aggravated at his kids if they keep making the same mistakes over and over, and not learning from them. I would think that God, if there is one, would have some kind of 'repeat offender' list...for those that have a slow learning curve...maybe they should have to quote scripture all the time....  (Sep 27, 2009 | post #14660)

Neighbors voice opposition to Mormon temple

Didn't they have some kind of meeting for the zone change? If i were you i would put all the information together, including other people's experiences when the mo mo's decided to 'light up their world' and have a talk with all the homeowners in the area, and sign a petition. The city might think different about letting them build if enough people make enough noise. And you would think that the church might have second thoughts about building where they are not wanted...And for any of the locals not familiar with the mormon religion, there is much information available about them that would scare anybody into not wanting them part of their neighborhood.  (Sep 27, 2009 | post #20)

That's about right...Each one trying to tell the other they are wrong...while the only way to know the absolute truth, is to die. As far as i am concerned, life is like a p.c. without a hard drive. Everything that is you, is written on R.A.M. and when ya pull the plug, it all goes "POOF". But even at that, there is no reason that anyone shouldn't live their life in a 'christian like' manner. Society seems to function better when it has some kind of guidelines to live by....and even if i am wrong, somebody's God might find my way of life acceptable and hook me up with that 'eternal happiness' thing  (Sep 27, 2009 | post #14646)
