Two young members leave Westboro church

Ok, after a lifetime of being taught to know and preach hate, I am skeptical that these two girls left after having a "life-changin g" conversation with a Jewish man. Firstly, I have nothing against Jews, in fact, I was born Jewish myself. Secondly, the phelps family is notorious for both physical, mental and verbal abuse. These "church" members are there out of fear and ignorance. Kids are taught hate by their own families and it is sadly the only thing they are taught. These girls left because their situation became too unbearable. Whether it was physical, mental, verbal or a combination, these girls left because they couldn't take it, not because they came to a realization. These girls are not hero's and I don't think anyone should be holding out and hoping that they will become some LGBT allies because they won't. It's sad to say but they have been damaged by the phelps family beyond repair. During those first critical few years of their lives where they learn right and wrong, they learned that what's wrong is right and what's right is wrong. They are just as much of monsters as the rest of the Westboro Baptist church family (emphasis on family).  (Feb 10, 2013 | post #5)

Florida is a dirty rotten state and it sickens me that a place like Disney can exist and still be great even though its built on trash (the state of florida)  (Feb 10, 2013 | post #70)

Debunking the Boy Scouts of America's Homophobic Logic

As a government funded organization, they should not have the right to discriminate as long as they are accepting money. In fact, it is offensive that the gay community is helping to fund a hate organization through tax dollars. I say, cut them off until they not only realize and correct their ways but also demonstrate their future commitment to the LGBT community: perhaps through an education program.  (Feb 10, 2013 | post #10)
