and also the President, Congress and the Senate (Nov 11, 2013 | post #68)
They could have said "cannabis consultant" rather than "expert pothead" but that just underlines the media's take on this. It was the media, after all, that helped the spread of reefer madness in the first place. (Feb 1, 2013 | post #1)
Stuff like this happens a lot. It's what happens when you tie in money and political power to law enforcement. See "Carmen Ortiz" if you need another example. (Feb 1, 2013 | post #11)
Why not? That's how the prohibition got started in the first place. (Oct 18, 2012 | post #12739)
So do any of these guys do any fact-checking before they make statements? Seems all republicrats are full of it and wouldn't know a fact if it bit them in the rear !!! (Oct 12, 2012 | post #2)
Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!! (Sep 24, 2012 | post #77)
I did not say that in this particular case the police had a foot on his head. But I've seen/heard of enough examples that there is room for doubt regarding the police version of what happened.. BTW, it's easy to do when you have multiple LEOs on the scene and yes it has been done to others. (Sep 21, 2012 | post #51)
You are right, I misspoke. Although he wasn't shot, I have seen many examples of folks getting roughed up (forced to lay on the floor with a LEO's foot on their head, etc) because, to them, cannabis is "dangerous " and so is anyone associated with it. If his condition was brought on by rough treatment, there could be a problem for the police. Hence, the coverup. I severely doubt that a 71 yr old man goes for anyone's gun. If you don't believe that there is an overreaction to cannabis "offenders ", take a look at the case in VA where a guy was brought to trial for TWO to THREE plants in his yard. Luckily, common sense prevailed and the jury refused to find him guilty. (Sep 21, 2012 | post #43)
Yes, we're all a lot safer now that they busted Fiona Apple with that hash and cannabis. (Sep 20, 2012 | post #1)
First of all, this story is in other threads besides the WV thread, so get over yourself. All I did was state facts and ask a question. Every industry that I mentioned has a stake in the current prohibition of cannabis which, if you bothered to look it up, is based in corporate greed, ignorance and misinformation. I just wanted to clarify your statement. By your admission, you hate those who abuse alcohol. Fair enough. Is your hatred of cannabis users also limited to abuse or do you hate all users? As far as "having nothing to fear", you may like living in a nanny state wher the police can come in your house for any reason they see fit because you "have nothing to hide", but, to me, that's a scary proposition. I don't claim to have knowledge of everything, not even close. But I am smart enough to know when laws have no basis in reality, logic or public safety and everything to do with benefitting benefactors of business and politicians. If you weren't so blind, you may see that too. (Sep 19, 2012 | post #27)
Lobbyists pay politicians to make laws in their favor. Law enforcement report not to the people, but to politicians. There's the connection. I've seen more than enough reports where police make up a story to justify a fatal shooting only for it to be BS. Add to the fact that the person they were looking for was not even wanted on a violent crime charge, but for growing a plant, and there you have an example of thuggery plain and simple. BTW, I've NEVER had any negative encounters with law enforcement. I have, however, seen enough examples of authority abuse to be wary of stories such as this. (Sep 19, 2012 | post #23)
That's right. The pharma/alcohol/tex tile/big oil/private prison/drug rehab/law enforcement lobbies don't like people who speak up in favor of people using any drugs that do not have a barcode and interferes in their profitability, and they'll send their dogs (police) after you. I assume then, HD, that you hate alcohol users as well? (Sep 19, 2012 | post #19)
Funny. The only people who die from cannabis are as a result of it's prohibition. Coincidence? I think not !!! Yet alcohol kills over 300K a year but it's legal. Go figure. (Sep 19, 2012 | post #18)
Good for her. That booze'll kill you. (Sep 19, 2012 | post #1)
Still cannot refute any points nor can resist the condescending remark. I can't wait till the question comes up in the debates. BTW, if Johnson gets in despite the republicrat rigged rules for joining, he'll make both of those guys look as out of touch as they really are. (Sep 19, 2012 | post #21)
