Immigration Attorney Sentenced To 366 Days In Prison

That's good - it will discourage others from doing the same.  (Sep 12, 2008 | post #69)

How Little We've Learned From 9/11

While I appreciate Ms. Ubinas's effort to be even-handed re. reasons not to vote for someone (war record, gender, race, etc.) if she's going to talk about exploring backgrounds and records, I've spent months doing that with Barak Obama - and Michelle - and I'm shall we say, uncomfortable with what - and whom - I found: Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, Edward Said, Louis and "Mother" Khadijah Farrakan, Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, and others. Imagine how disappointing this is after having donated to BHO's campaign prior to all these discoveries. This man may be polished and articulate - not to mention sanctimonious - he is also The Manchurian Candidate.  (Sep 11, 2008 | post #7)

Man Who Faked His Way Into Yale Spared Jail

How does a university, with presumably some of the most intelligent people working for it, manage to let this one slip by??  (Sep 6, 2008 | post #20)

A Candidate's Homes Matter

I wonder if Mr. Deegan ever wondered about the number of houses owned by former presidential candidate Senator John Kerry and his billionaire wife, Theresa Heinz.  (Aug 30, 2008 | post #11)

Helmets Don't Make Riding Safer

This writer states: "The issue (of whether to wear helmets) is one for individual bikers to decide, not newspapers, politicians or those who don't ride." Wrong - When paramedics, police, and firefighters go to the scene of an accident where a biker wasn't wearing a helmet, they can't make the decision whether to pick up the scattered brains of the biker. They have to - as part of their gruesome job description - pick up the splattered remains.  (Aug 30, 2008 | post #1)

Details Matter

Did anyone ask how many houses John Kerry's billionaire wife, Theresa Heinz owns? I doubt it...  (Aug 30, 2008 | post #9)

Perez Signs Immigration Rule

Hartford City Councilman Cuoto says: "People are here. We can't do anything about that." I'm sure glad he's not a councilman in my town. I can just hear him saying: "Crime is here. We can't do anything about that."  (Aug 19, 2008 | post #20)

Perez Signs Immigration Rule

The mayor of Munchkin Land could do a better job. Please contact the mayor at this address to (politely) express your outrage: http://www.hartfor d.gov/government/m ayor/contact.asp and by the way, why is Governor Rell so quiet on this issue? City Council OKs Immigration Ordinance

"The ordinance also prohibits other city employees from asking anyone seeking services about their immigration status." Councilman Pedro E. Segarra called the decision "bold and courageous... " "My responsibility as a council person is to the residents of Hartford," he said. "I'm not responsible for securing our borders. I'm not responsible for issuing visas." How charming. Now the city of Hartford wants to give ILLEGAL immigrants free services paid for by the tax payers. If Mr. Segarra's responsibility is truly to the residents of Hartford, he wouldn't sanction ILLEGAL ones.  (Aug 12, 2008 | post #16)

In Era Of Pills, Fewer Psychiatrists Doing Psychotherapy

Great - so the doctors - and the insurance companies - and of course the drug companies with their little dancing, smiling pills - are making money hand over fist.  (Aug 11, 2008 | post #8)

West Hartford Town Manager Takes California Job

Jim Francis: "and they told my wife and I that that's where they're going to stay — that we should come out." Geez, the poor fellow man (and I use the term "poor" loosely - $100,000 pension is pretty darn good) can't even speak proper English. The correction: "and they told "my wife and ME." Luckily he's not heading up the Board of Ed.  (Aug 7, 2008 | post #4)
