Woman's right to have a child.

I have to agree with those who oppose this idea. While procedures like IVF are expensive and the desire to have children is emotionally great for many women, the fact remains that this is an ELECTIVE procedure. I can see no way to justify increase health insurance costs for everyone because of the wants, NOT NEEDS, of a few. I won't even go into the whole scenario of someone not working, being "disabled " and yet expecting others to foot the bill for an expensive and completely elective procedure.  (Jan 31, 2013 | post #23)

Obama-Marriage - Riverside, NJ

There is no legal justification for denying homosexuals the right to marry. Legal marriage in the US is strictly a civil issue. It has nothing to do with religion or the ability to have children. Marriage is a civil right as defined by the Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia (the case that invalidated all laws prohibiting interracial marriage in 1967) No matter what your religious views may be, they have no bearing whatsoever on LEGAL marriage which is strictly an issue between the state/federal government and the couple. The rights and privileges afforded to a couple via legal marriage should not be denied to a segment of the population strictly by virtue of their sexual orientation. There has not been a single justifiable reason to deny same sex marriage posted in this thread.  (Jan 30, 2013 | post #119)
