Steve Scauzillo: Getting an "F" in innovation

"There is something very wrong with our country's human capital if its primary goal is earning $1 million before age 30". So what is wrong with earning a lot of money? It's the very people who do, that contribute to innovative businesses in the form of venture capital. Like an alternative energy startup, for instance. I'm just saying.  (Dec 3, 2010 | post #3)

Coyote advocates urge neighborhood coexistence in Arcadia

These predator-cuddling morons drive me nuts. They always use the argument that, oh well, if you kill them, then more will just move in and they'll reproduce more, bla bla bla. Trapping, poisoning, shooting -- whatever it takes, do it. The situation IS out of control, and it's an ever expanding population. Take care of it, and don't listen to the greenie whiners, who don't have their head in the right place.  (Dec 2, 2010 | post #2)

Letters to the editor: Election big bucks

Right on. And those who do become citizens and just squeaked by on the English test, but still demand ballots in Chinee-Kor-Span-bodian or whatever need not be voting at all.  (Nov 29, 2010 | post #3)

"The pigeon didn't survive the accident." Great reporting. Who gives a Shiite about the fricking pigeon? Dam rats with wings, and they drop nasty stuff on your car. Time to cut down the population.  (Nov 24, 2010 | post #47)

Our View: Of instant runoffs and our democracy

"In Oakland's mayoral race, the nominal front-runner, prominent state Sen. Don Perata, got far more first-place votes - the only kind that used to count - than any other candidate. He did not, however, take a majority of them in a multi-candidate race. Once the second-place votes from other candidates were counted, Perata ended up losing to Councilwoman Jean Quan..." Certainly the scheme they used is whacko... but one good thing came of it -- "The Don" Perata, one of the most horrific legislators in recent California history, got his butt kicked. So good on ya, Oakland!  (Nov 23, 2010 | post #2)

Letters to the editor: `Price' of Thanksgiving

Well said. We're physiologically designed to eat and digest meat as well as plant matter. Ergo, we're meant to eat both. Anyone trying to deny biological design is a fool.  (Nov 22, 2010 | post #11)

Letters to the editor: `Price' of Thanksgiving

re Price of Thanksgiving: "Consumers, too, pay a heavy price. Turkey flesh is laced with cholesterol and saturated fats that elevate the risk of chronic killer diseases. Labels warn of food poisoning potential." Umm, just a bit of hyperbole there don't you think. I swear, every month or so this paper lets some vegan nutjob have his say on the op-ed page. I'm all for free speech, but I'm also free to rebut and even ridicule the folly of people like this. They can eat what they want, I don't care. Just don't foist your idiotic beliefs on the rest of us.  (Nov 22, 2010 | post #10)
