what is happening with carbon county politics

I dont know about predictions this race. I'm hearing so much negativity about the candidates it's hard to get a feel. The only candidates that I'm hearing less gripes about is Nothstein, Smith and Gerhard. Everone I speak with is still pissed about the O sr. appointment. Walk is an arrogant a-hole and his “degree” is not even worth the paper it's printed on. Dellicker could not run the recycling program how could he run the county. Ahner will run for any position thats available just for status. (these are not my opinions just what I'm hearing) On the other hand up the Mountain it seemes it will stay current leadership.  (May 17, 2015 | post #7768)

I told you before Nu. I'm always lurking about. Yea I know Getzy doesnt care for O, a little sarcasm there. I cant believe as a Dem. what we have to choose from this election. Its so sad to see the Dem . party couldnt even find one, not one candidate who is viable.  (Mar 2, 2015 | post #7640)

Bobish is definitely not helping Hefley. He's been a large supporter of Borger's, gathering signatures walking her around and he's even on her website.  (Nov 3, 2014 | post #7454)

Im not getting the same sentiment Nu. It seems that ol Doylie has the incumbent vote. People who dont want change. On the other hand I see people who are fed up with Corbett and are dead set against the Rep. Vote. I'm going to call this a close one, could go either way. It will be interesting to see if the local vote getters pull it out for the ones they supported or are the people just drones for politics.  (Nov 2, 2014 | post #7441)

I was speaking with old Doily a few weeks ago. I asked him about his voting record on education. He carefully scanned the crowd, found someone he knew and arrogantly said we'll talk later he needed to see that person. Well guess what, he never came back. Now I was around the county last week and I noticed along routs 443, 209, 248 and 93 someone put a Heffley sign right in front of all the Borger signs. Our State Rep. And all his cronies are just showing more and more class the closer it gets to election. It's like watching a little kid staying close to the last seat in musical chairs, with that extreem look of desperation in his eyes.  (Oct 11, 2014 | post #7292)

Im still here NU. Just waiting for some good conversation seems like same old same old. I'm also wating for Doyle to do somthing outstanding so all his supportrs will have at least have one thing to brag about. No ID. I dont think Bobish has any intention on runnin but I dont know for sure. Wha I do know is he and Walck dont care for each other, they had a tiff a few years ago at the Flow during the Stae Rep race when Bobish caled him out on bashing all the other candidates.  (Sep 14, 2014 | post #7136)

TP, I can sum it up for you quickly. It's called selfishness. Years ago people voted for the candidate they believed was the best person for the job. They met the candidate, spoke with them and got to know them. Then somewhere about the late 80's the American people started to get this sense of entitlement. What is in it for me? People stopped looking at a candidate for the overall outcome but voted on mostly singular issues, therefore groups started keying on those particular issues to bash candidates IE: pro-life, pro-choice. They threw the whole candidate away for one issue that they believed made the candidate who they were. There is no critical thinking anymore it's who is my mom, dad, friends, etc. voting for. It truly is a sad state of affairs when people say I'm voting for so and so but they can not give you a good reason why. Remember common sense isn’t so common anymore.  (Jul 27, 2014 | post #6992)

Is it just me, or is the pro Heffley people in here starting to act like a buch of drunk guys at a bar on Super Bowl Sunday? “No my teams the best because I said so!” Really? Calling Mrs. Borger, Bugger. Grow Up already. Whats going to be next “I know you are but what am I”.  (Jul 13, 2014 | post #6952)

At first I thought she had a pretty good shot at winning over Doily. Seeing all the great responses to her functions and the people supporting her. I now think “Pretty Good” was an understatement. If you all remenber a little time back I stated it will be interesting to see who supports her.  (Jun 1, 2014 | post #6821)

Well its been said in here many times, “signs dont vote”. I think Heffley had 10 times more signs than votes. He should be thinking right about now the ship is going down man the pumps LOL!  (May 21, 2014 | post #6796)

Well well, news is starting to pick up on both fronts. Borger is working very hard, out and about meeting as many people as she can. I also heard she has an upcoming 75.00 a plate fundraiser at the Packer mansion. Heff. Is looking to open up a satellite office up in Beaver Meadows. Now the games are certainly getting interesting.  (May 17, 2014 | post #6783)

Wow sure is quiet in here. No reports on the Dems spring fling on Friday? I heard the GOV. is going to be at Kovatch today, wonder if Doily will be inserted in his rear end?  (Apr 27, 2014 | post #6727)

Is it just me or does anyone else find it odd that Heff's signs are poping up all over? Does he realize hes running unopposed or is he thinking he still may lose in the primary?  (Apr 18, 2014 | post #6706)
