I do remember heh old dynamite shacks. I got most of my info about dynamite forest from my older brothers. I was pretty young and the whole thing seemed a little mysterious and spooky to me. I attended Valley View, Park View, West View and Lockport West. I'll have to check out the group on facebook. Thanks for the heads up. (Aug 15, 2011 | post #49)
Thank you for answering my question. I'm surprised it was around that long. I never hear anything about company picnics any more. I worked there many, many years ago. (Aug 14, 2011 | post #3)
Does anyone remember Hillcrest Park and is it still in existence? (Aug 13, 2011 | post #1)
Miller also has a new Director of Nursing, someone I know. With her in that position, I would not hesitate to put my Mother there or, if it were necessary, to reside there myself. (Aug 13, 2011 | post #10)
Has anyone heard who is going to be the new finance commisioner. (Aug 12, 2011 | post #1)
I grew up in Romeoville but have been gone for many years now. A few years ago, I drove through my old neighborhood and barely recognized anything. In fact, my old house was barely recognizable. When I moved there as a child, our relatives refered to where we lived as being out in the country. (Aug 12, 2011 | post #46)
Sorry I posted the same information twice. It didn't appear to show up the first time I posted it. (Aug 11, 2011 | post #2)
Soccer will begin again soon. Practices have already begun. Can't wait to get out and see all the kids playing again. (Aug 11, 2011 | post #1)
Do you know where Montrose intersects Belmont? If you go west from there, all that area used to be forest when I was a little kid. We used to call it Dynamite Forest. There was no Yates Ave or any of those othe streets back there and no Lake Shirley or Lake Strini. (Aug 11, 2011 | post #43)
