Former Clarksville woman dead in murder-suicide in GA

So out of curiosity, who got Ms. Danenburg's house? I've seen workers doing stuff in there. Is it just sitting empty?  (May 19, 2010 | post #10)

As far as I can tell, I'm not getting any option to delete discussions that are posted by someone to the forum section. I get an option to delete stories that aren't relevant, but nothing about the discussions. Sorry for the inconvenience.  (Sep 7, 2009 | post #2)

Proofreading

These articles are not posted by a person, they are searched by Topix' search bot, software that searches out certain words and phrases. We have no control on these types of articles that get posted. All we can do is kill the story once it is posted. Sometimes we don't catch them all. Sorry for that.  (Sep 7, 2009 | post #2)

Clarksville man stabbed to death

Last time I checked, I wasn't a saint either, but I hope that doesn't mean I deserve to be stabbed to death on the street. Sheesh!  (Jul 29, 2008 | post #11)

Feds interested in jailed suspect in Clarksville murder

Not hiding, just working. All I know is that court records claim he is Native American. Probably ethnically speaking. That means he can be of any nationality. I suppose someone can be of native american decent but be a citizen of Costa Rica. That's the only way I can figure both aspects to be correct. I pretty much lean toward sending all the illegals home and putting up a huge fence, myself. And the fact that ICE is interested in this guy only confirms what my first inclination was, that he was illegal. However, all ICE would do is deport him, so I'm eager for our justice system to get a hold of him first. I think coverage has lacked, also. I at least expected it to be in the Richmond paper. I'm not sure the locals know what to do with a story that has the potential to be this volatile. They seem more interested in the school board and rehashing the sherrif election.  (Jul 29, 2008 | post #5)

Clarksville man stabbed to death

According to the police report, the suspect is a Native American, so "he" was here before "us" and "we" were the immigrants. It doesn't make this story any more or less tragic. I can't remember the details I got from another local paper, so I'll post again when I have that info.  (Jul 18, 2008 | post #3)

Clarksville doctor making amazing recovery

That's just speculation. Just because you call youself "informed " doesn't mean you are. You don't know happened any more than anyone else (except maybe Zwilling's wife). Here are my thoughts: 1. A doctor would surely know where and how to shoot himself in order to NOT mess it up. 2. Someone who is going to kill themselves in the middle of the night doesn't put their toothguard in place before doing it. 3. He wrote numerous emails to family and friends before going to bed that night about upcoming visits he was going to make. 4. He SAYS he didn't do it (not that he could remember it anyway). Yet, you don't hear squat from the wife or her boyfriend (who it is rumoured was a cop himself, and possibly first on the scene (?).) I'm just saying, just because the cops thought it was suicide, doesn't mean they should not do an investigation, gather evidence, etc. Which they did not do.  (Feb 14, 2008 | post #12)

Weather in Clarksville

In all honesty, I would totally choose Charlottesville. I think your business ideas could be really successful someplace like that. Not so much in Clarksville. The closest thing we had to it was a skating rink in South Boston that hosted parties and lock-ins and things like that, but it has since closed. I think it might have been too much trouble for whoever was running it. Even though I would love (personally) to have an English pub in Clarksville, I'm not sure most people in town would get the idea! Our most popular eatery is a diner/ice cream place that only has about 7 tables in it (maybe it just seems popular because it's small so it always seems busy there!) Since I last posted, one of our fast food restaurants has closed. I had been thinking we probably couldn't support the number of establishments we had. Not without any major industry anymore. I think you'd be much better off in Charlottesville. It's not that far. You can always take a few weekends and come down here and rent a cabin on the lake! There is much more to do there, more opportunity, and way more people to become future customers or clients in whatever business venture you decide on. But we'd love it if you visited!  (Jan 25, 2008 | post #8)

Weather in Clarksville

Jo-Ann, as someone who grew up here and then moved away and moved back, I'd suggest you look into Central Indiana if you really want some snow in winter and good weather in summer. I lived there for over 6 years and LOVED IT. I lived in Indianapolis, which is a big city with a smalltown feel, and I felt very at home there, being from the south. There is what's called Hoosier Hospitality in Indiana that is very much like southern hospitality. I have to say that if I had kids, I would NOT be living back in Clarksville. I am a product of our local schools and I just don't think they prepared me at all for the real world and college. And unless we were into sports (which I wasn't) there was NOTHING to do around here as a kid. Granted, there is more to do here now than there was then, but if you're interested in 4 very different seasons and what's best for your kid, I'd either try further north or west in Virginia (coz they get more snow) or someplace else entirely. And depending on what your career is, there aren't a whole lot of jobs in the area. We're supporting probably as many restaurants as we can handle and the only other things doing remotely well are antique shops. (The Lamplighter Restaurant is for sale, if you're interested.) We're pretty short on industry (2-3 small ones.) That said, Clarksville is a beautiful place and most of the people are great. I agree with most of what Chase City Rez has to say. (I have a love/hate relationship with the place, as you can probably tell!)  (Jan 23, 2008 | post #6)
