Smoking

I am a smoker as well and also try to be respectful when around non smokers...too a point. For me that line ends when they come into places that they know allows smoking and complain about it. There are plenty of places in town that are non smoking only yet I don't throw a fit when I go to one. As someone else on another thread has said...if it really bothers you that much show them by boycotting but don't take away business owners rights to run their business as they see fit.  (Sep 20, 2010 | post #12)

Smoking

It's not about your rights vs. smokers rights, it's about the restaurant owners right to cater to the clientele he or she desires.  (Sep 19, 2010 | post #5)

Group forms to make area city smoke-free

I get the fact that non smokers don't want to be around smokers and the cloud of smoke that accumulates around them, but is forcing people to follow your rules the way to go? They scream that smokers are violating their right to a smoke free place to go, but what about the smokers right to smoke without being harassed by others? while Smoking is a choice (and A bad one at that)you need to realize that the two groups need to find some way to coexist i.e. smoking and non smoking establishments. When you take away any persons right you expose us to having more rights taken from us. Personally I hate young, low income, low I.Q., and/or bad parents. Does this mean that I should form a group that forces people below a certain income or I.Q. to be sterilized? Do I need to campaign to have young parents, whom normally turn into bad parents, put in jail? You think this is out there now but when you chip away at personal freedoms you slowly descend into a cycle that feeds on people eliminating rights one by one.  (Aug 7, 2010 | post #31)

Thank you for taking action! I had no idea where I could report this creepy and very sad thread that might actually help these poor boys. I know topix is one of the forums that will provide IP addresses to police so lets pray that the agencies you sent this to file a formal complaint.  (Jul 1, 2010 | post #60)

favorite little-known LOCAL restaurants...

Well I am not sure what you did wrong but I know for a fact they were open and I highly doubt they turned right around so soon after opening to close once I was served my lunch. I have to wonder if you even bothered to call or are you just try to save face after speaking without knowing what was really going on.  (Jun 23, 2010 | post #71)

After hearing all the good things about Hanuman on this thread I had to go try it. I was expecting decent food but was blow away by their wonderful and authentic cooking. The place really isn't much to look at and the AC in the back room isn't the best but I didn't mind that on bit once my food arrived. I most certainly will be eating there again!  (Jun 23, 2010 | post #59)

Three Rivers drops GED requirement, prepares for fall enr...

I made very good grades in school and was on my way to a academic scholarship when my mother and stepfather decided that I needed to pay household bills more than I needed to finish high school. I could and should have gone to get my GED but to be honest it scared me so I never got it. Now seeing the possibility of going to college as something tangible has made me rethink what I need and want to do with my life. I am not a bad nor stupid person and having this chance is just what I need to get me in gear.  (Jun 21, 2010 | post #9)

Dr. John Patty

He is a great Doctor. You do wait a really long time but when its your time to deliver you definitely like the fact that he pushes things back to make sure you and you baby come through delivery just fine. When I was in he held off leaving for vacation until I had my son....how many others would have done the same.  (Jun 15, 2010 | post #6)

Reporting a Landlord

Glad to hear it! If more people knew what their rights were then less landowners would try and take advantage of the situation. I've been there myself and it is very hard when you think you have no recourse.  (Jun 9, 2010 | post #24)

China 5 Star Buffet

As often as I eat out I think I have gotten sick at least once at most places here in town but china 5 star buffet is one of the few places that never made me ill. The worst thing I have seen there is a friend with sea food allergies had a problem with cross contamination but even that can be excused at a open buffet where people swap spoons for everything.  (Jun 7, 2010 | post #3)
