Ga. Mother Seeks Harry Potter Ban

I do SO hate to sound negative, but if your post is any indication, an education does not seem to be as big a pollutant as your bigotry. Read a book. Heck, read two! I'm surprised constantly to find people with skills this limited, attempting to communicate on the internet. Don't they realize it requires reading? and writing? Oh, the horrors.  (Feb 8, 2007 | post #143)

DragonFyre Weyr, Inc. Meetings Open to the Public

To relay omitted information from my original post... That's Sevierville, TN. We also hold workshops about 6 times per year. As soon as we have all the information concerning our next workshop, I will post that here in the forums. I do know that it will be scheduled for late May to Mid-June, and that it will be on Cloakmaking. You will need your own supplies. I will post contact info for a list of necessary supplies, etc. when the time comes.  (Feb 8, 2007 | post #2)

Pagan Christmas ritual pressed on young kids

I think it's about time there was a little public awareness out there concerning the Pagan religions besides the movies [which fail miserably, IMO]. Way to go, Nature Spirit! I think I've got my winter project, now. Public awareness brochures. That's the ticket.  (Feb 8, 2007 | post #5)

Judge allows Wiccan lawsuit against government to continue

But back to the topic at hand. I believe that anyone, regardless of religion, who has demonstrated the quality of heart required to risk their very life to serve this country, has the right to have their religious choice honored. Once the US government recognized Wicca as a true religion, I believe they behaved scandalously in denying this widow's request for over a DECADE [!] and then again by attempting to hold it off for another YEAR! It's astounding how narrow-minded and bigoted this country still is. We are the melting pot. We have always BEEN the melting pot. Where is the religious equality upon which this country was founded?  (Feb 8, 2007 | post #103)

DragonFyre Weyr, Inc. Meetings Open to the Public

HI there. I'm Lady Elswet, High Priestess of the eclectic teaching coven, DragonFyre Weyr. I'm just writing to let everyone know that we have "Illumination " meetings every odd Tuesdays [that's the first, the third, and the occasional 5th Tuesdays] each month. We meet at Starbucks on Hwy 66 in Sevierville, in front of Lowe's at 10 AM EST. The meeting usually lasts 2 to 3 hours. The next meeting will be held on 2/20/07, and the topic will be the Pagan origins of St. Valentine's Day. These meetings are open to anyone interested in participating in our discussions. The meetings are free, but we do ask that you be prepared to buy a tea or coffee from our hosting site, Starbucks. If you have read this far down, I would like to thank you for your time. Please feel free to check out our workshop Illumination site at okymountainpagans. com or our Coven site at http://dragonfyrew I look forward to seeing you there. Be Blessed.  (Feb 8, 2007 | post #1)

Judge allows Wiccan lawsuit against government to continue

I'm terribly sorry to sound argumentative, but those assumptions and conclusions are erroneous. You may believe in whatever you wish, you have that right. But you cannot rewrite history in order to suit your own needs. Personally, I think it's time that practice was quelled. This country was NOT based on ANY god, but on the belief of ALL Gods. Yes, that's plural. G O D S. Jehova was but one, and our forefathers knew and respected that. And to go out on the proverbial limb a bit further, that also includes the Goddesses, which Catholocism stripped of Womanhood, Divinity, and Power. They also understood that. If you don't, perhaps you should invest a little reading time at your local public library...or on the internet. You might try starting with any of the many biographies on Thomas Jefferson, his beliefs and personal practices, before attempting to alter history, or agree with the current mainstream bastardizations of his life. Blessed Be.  (Feb 3, 2007 | post #61)

Wiccan Sign Allowed on Soldier's Plaque

[quote]He was a follower of the Wiccan religion, which the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs does not recognize and therefore prohibits on veterans' headstones in national cemeteries.[/quote ] Actually, all branches of the armed forces lists Wicca as a religious choice on dogtags and for council. Therefore, they DO recognize it as a genuine religion and SHOULD allow in national cemeteries. That's it and that's all.  (Feb 3, 2007 | post #10)

Bush to ask for $300 billion more in war funding

Free healthcare would be great. But the truth is, we're in this up to our eyebrows, and if we leave, it MUST be in victory, not in defeat. Unfortunately, now that it's begun, we MUST finish this in a proactive, and victorious, conclusion, or there will be no more America. They will not only smell weakness, but they will become bolstered by watching us withdraw in defeat, which will bring the attacks more and more regularly. As against this holy war for oil and "finishing daddy's business" as I am, we MUST conclude this in a victorious way. Give him the money and get it over with! The truth about it is that we cannot lay a timeline commitment to it. There's no telling how long this will take.  (Feb 2, 2007 | post #4)

Gay megachurch joining United Churches of Christ

Deb, just so you know, I'm a heterosexual [completely] female, snd I have to say that I have to respect your position. Why SHOULD there be discriminatory benefits and subsidies for the heterosexuall lifestyle choice at the ecxpense of all others, indeed! I have never heard it said better.  (Feb 2, 2007 | post #86)

"Party mom" arrested after serving alcohol, sex at teen g...

I have to agree with the first part. For the most part. There are cases where rehabilitation was successful, but they ARE very few and VERY far between. They get smarter, working harder to hide who and what they are, what they are doing. They infiltrate organizations, which will provide them with more discrete access to children, women, boys, whatever their preference is. They cover their tracks after having been caught. But for the most part, these "people" are not viable material any longer and should not be allowed around others.  (Feb 2, 2007 | post #54)

Al Gore nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

This board seems more like Al Gore's spelling lesson when he was VP. Anyone remember that? "Potatoe " instead of "Potato? " Anyone? *laughs* Anyway, after blunders like that, and his self-proclaimed invention of the internet [the government had it in place decades before he hit the scene], I've little to no faith in his words. If global warming is happening, okay, but I can't subscribe to his interpretations of these events. Things are happening, sure. But the truth is, it's a natural progression, which has occurred before. It's not caused by humans breathing, car emissions, factories, or anything else. The truth is that it's TIME for this to happen. We will survive. I think he is an alarmist who is still trying to make a name for himself besides "Fool," which he sorely earned and owns.  (Feb 2, 2007 | post #12)

Judge allows Wiccan lawsuit against government to continue

I wholeheartedly agree, but the truth is, I've followed this casually over the years, and believe me when I tell you this has gone on for over a decade. The widow applied through appropriate channels and was diverted, ditched, and finally just ignored. This lawsuit has been a long time coming, and wasn't a casual or frivolous choice.  (Feb 2, 2007 | post #14)
