Senators OK abortion restrictions

Hey smart ass, I don't know how many. What an ignorant question. I do know of a college class from Northwestern University, for a class assignment, examined a number of Illinois death row cases. They found many who did not receive a fair trial. Some were subsequently determined not to have committed the crime which they were convicted of. Had this class not completed this assignment, several innocent men would have been excecuted. Because of their assignment results, the Illinois Governor stopped all Illinois executions, changing their sentances to life in prison, without parole. Is this good enough for you?  (Sep 11, 2009 | post #176)

Maybe they just can't pay for it, like they don't have a job or something. I'm against the Capital Punishment because our judicial system has too many flaws. The Federal Government or State Government should not excecute anyone. Like you said, a death is a death. That was my point. I don't understand how youu got to the point where I favored capital punishment.  (Sep 11, 2009 | post #175)

How many on death row were exonerated of the crime before they were executed? How many were innnocent and executed? Our legal system has flaws, many of them. In many cases, war is not necessary. How about Vietnam? How many died there for no reason? Many more were maimed and some still suffer the effects of that war. Just go to the VA. And I suppose you were all for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Let's see, about 5K dead, tens of thousands critically wounded. More than a Trillion in debt for these wars and Bin Laden is still alive. Guess these were great decisions too. What branch did you serve and what theater were you in?  (Aug 19, 2009 | post #167)

Blackhawks players sorry to see Dale Tallon out as GM

Where do I start. It's been quite some time since being this excited about the Hawks. Last year was fantastic and I expected great things ahead. Then McDonough starts to screw up the whole thing and FIRES Dale Tallon. This brings back terrible memories when the Hawks let Bobby leave for Winnipeg. Although the knife in the back is not as deep, we are still getting stabbed again. I hope Dale reads some of these comments as I want to wish him well. He did his job and did it well. This BS about late contracts is just that...BS! Dale will get another job and I hope it haunts McDonough forever. Thanks again Dale. You will be missed not only by the players but by us fans as well. Come on Rocky, start thinking of Hawk supporters again. You made great moves when taking over the Hawks. Now this! Dale brought us back to the good old days. . . Remember the ROARRRRRRRRR! I don't feel the same about next year like I did last week. It seems like I've been here before. Like Yogi said, "this seems like déjàvu all over again."  (Jul 15, 2009 | post #6)

Bud Selig still reviewing Rose application for reinstatement

I love Pete Rose and the way he played the game. I had always been a proponent allowing him to be voted on for induction to the Hall of Fame. That being said, I now have changed my previous belief because of the tragic (for real baseball fans) use of steroids and performance enhancing drugs by the baseball players. If you let Pete join the HOF, then the users of steroids and performance enhancing drugs should be eligible too. This can't and should never happen or the game will be finished. Baseball is having a difficult time as it is trying to keep up with the National Football League.  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #1)

I get a kick out of conservatives who call people who are "Pro Choice" - "Pro Abortion". Like we really think abortion is a great thing. Give me a break. When someone decides not to have an abortion, isn't that a "Choice" ? It's a woman's choice, not the government. If an abortion is performed, she answers only to her maker, and he/she alone. I don't think we want to go back to the 60's and before, with back room abortions. It also seems that everyone I know who claims to be pro-life is also in favor of Capital Punishment and think going to war is OK. Just my opinion!  (Jul 10, 2009 | post #164)

Blackhawks GM admits mistake on late offers

Isn't it something. Every glitch apparently gives so called fans the right to **** . I agree, enjoy the ride and remember nothing last forever. Go for it when you can and by looking at Tallon's moves, they are going full ahead this year. Start thinking positive and give up all of this negativity.  (Jul 9, 2009 | post #17)

Jose Contreras, Paul Konerko lead Chicago White Sox to 7-...

I'm happy for Jose. His life hasn't been full of roses. He deserves a break. I hope he was able to patch things up with his wife and they didn't divorce. He waited so long for them to be allowed to leave Cuba. That would be a shame. Good going Jose!  (Jun 14, 2009 | post #21)
