Up-coming 2011 Contract

My union rep said not to expect anything from this coming contract, but maybe we would would see a wage increase for T2 in the 2015 contract. So, I sincerely doubt they are fighting for anything this coming contract, so don't hold your breath - your guy is probably blowing smoke up your ass just to appease you.  (Apr 13, 2011 | post #33)

Parts Shortage

I have never believed anything that I've heard at BAP, it is strictly for entertainment purposes. As far as the calendar goes, it was out dated from the moment it was printed, I only found it interesting with all the rumors flying around the plant. We will see what's going on, after it has happened on the news that is the Chrysler way.  (Apr 6, 2011 | post #20)

Parts Shortage

I saw a calendar (for BAP) that my TL printed out, on all Saturdays thru the end of the month except for Easter weekend, and it showed 2 Saturdays in May with a 9 hour schedule for the whole month.  (Apr 4, 2011 | post #15)

1st, bump to 2nd, to run for union steward..R dey for d p...

Yes, (info for BAP) we (ETE's: those that signed a 2 year contract in June 2006) have a seniority date of 2/12/10, the TPT's I think have a seniority date of 2/13/10, and the rest all depend on when they started, some started as temps in Oct 2009. We (ETE's) were officially hired on October 25, 2010 and they back dated our seniority dates based on what our previous status' were (ETE, TPT, new hire).  (Apr 2, 2011 | post #24)

There are hundreds at BAP, not a whole shift but pretty close. There were 200+ that were ETE's, and at least 100 that were TPT's, then there were also new hires too. BAP runs 2 shifts and there is something around 900 on the plant floor.  (Apr 2, 2011 | post #22)

YES 2tier need to wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Thank you Mike, I've been trying to say the same thing. I've been at BAP for 5 years, started out as FT ETE in 2006. I'm so happy to have a job as well. I'm hoping things will turn around, in time and that I can EARN what the T1's have over time.  (Mar 29, 2011 | post #7)

Who thinks tier 2 workers should be let go.

Not all of us T2's are worthless. I've worked hard over the last 5 years, rarely miss work, I've never gone to medical, and I have learned all the jobs on the teams I've been on, do the full rotation on my team and do my jobs well. I take pride in my work, our customers deserve that. There are plenty of people (T1's & T2's a like) that don't come into work, beg for an early out regularly, go to medical on a weekly basis, and their work ethics suck. It's a mixed bag, especially at BAP - between all the transfers, and the tiered pay system it's a real mess out here, the employees are divided in many directions. Many of the people that took the buyout were lied to by the union, and were told if they didn't take the buyout they would never see the inside of the plant again. I'm sorry for those that wanted to stay out there, but CHOSE to not stick it out. I'm going to stick it out until the 2015 contract, and hope for changes in the right direction.  (Mar 6, 2011 | post #7)

Corporate Senority?

I can usually tell when it's the "real" you, but why don't you sign in any more? Then it's real obvious who the "real" posters are vs the wannabe's .  (Mar 6, 2011 | post #11)

Can tier 2 get a raise before 2015?

Thank you!! I've been trying to say the same thing about not lowering any one's wages or benefits, and then allowing us (T2) to EARN up to what T1 is making. I've never walked into this plant thinking I deserved what someone with 5, 15, or 25+ years - that is just BS to think that way. I just would like to see a chance at EARNING it the same way T1 did.  (Mar 5, 2011 | post #17)

Can tier 2 get a raise before 2015?

Did you completely miss the part where they said "EARN IT", and that's exactly what I would like the chance to do. I never walked into the plant and expected to make what the guy across from me with 25 years in was making - but I would like the chance to EARN IT even if were to take "5, 6, or 7 years to get to top wage"!  (Mar 3, 2011 | post #12)

1T vs 2T

When I started at BAP in May 2006 thinking I was getting hired in at a "real" employee, only to be told the following month sign this 2 year contract (the beginning of the "ETE") or the door is that way. We were hired in at $18/hr, and when they laid me off (let us go) in March 2008, I was up to $20/hr. Then the next month, only to turn around and bring so many of us back, at the $14.65/hr crap - and doing the same exact job that I left from - it was kind of a joke. At least back then we had the opportunity to get to the full wages, as it stands now we will never see them. I am in it for the ride and will ride it out for a while. If the 2015 contract doesn't start turn things around - I will go back to school, I finished my associates in December. I am one of those people that likes to work to earn my wages, but don't like feel advantage of. I come into work every day, and perform my job as described in the JES, unless it can be done better. I try really hard not to think about the other team members doing these same exact jobs that I am but for twice as much. I am not angry at them for this, I'm angry that I can't even get the chance to EARN that amount even over time - it isn't their fault, but it certainly is someone's fault.  (Feb 28, 2011 | post #25)
