Why? Because the judge read the law & the law does not provide for the Governor to appoint a Lt. Governor? The man was damned no matter how he decided. If he'd ruled that the Governor was within his rights to appoint a Lt. Governor, then the Republicans would be crying in their beers. LaMarca is a an excellent jurist. As bank fees rise, consumers shop for checking accounts

People need to look at credit unions instead of commercial banks. Having had both a credit union & commercial bank account, I can honestly say the rates are better and they're actually more stable than banks. They're also full service, meaning you can get loans, mortgages etc through them. Organizers might have gotten the 8000 they'd anticipated if the sordid details Saint McNair's (as he was pretty much dubbed in Nashville) secret life didn't start coming out until after the funeral. He was cheating on his wife for at least 6 years with a stripper in Minnesota & then this girl in Nashville for the last 6 months. On top of that, he was "cheating " on the girl with another woman. Suit to bar Ravitch as lt. gov. adjourned until Wednesday

Who is paying the cost of the lawsuit? They had to buy an index # ($210), pay for the Request for Judicial Intervention ($95), pay for the Order to Show Cause ($45), pay for the cross motion ($45), pay for the Order to Show Cause that was supposedly being filed at 5 pm tonight ($45), plus attorney's fees, which usually runs about $10,000. Why should the taxpayers get stuck with that bill? It's bad enough these idiots are getting paid by us for 5 weeks of doing nothing. Perhaps someone should file a lawsuit against Skelos, Espada & the rest of the senate on behalf of themselves & the people of the state of new york demanding they not be paid and they pay out of pocket for the lawsuits.  (Jul 10, 2009 | post #6)
