Off-duty officer dies in crash

It is tragic to lose anyone. But why is it when others crash esp at 2:15am and leaving a restaurant immediately it states "its unknown if alcohol was involved" or assumed it was. Because it was an officer there's no mention? Of any case, this would be the one to assume. Drunk drivers are out there more than ever... we need to get a grip and open our eyes. We're not invincible and alcohol impairs our judgement!  (Oct 13, 2008 | post #43)

Mexican flag criticized in New Haven

OK, this raises my brow for a few reasons.... the american flag is OUR flag that represents OUR country. We are not in Mexico. If you want to represent your country at YOUR house- fine. Also, it would be acceptable if we proudly hung ALL countries flags. Don't pick and choose. On another note: i have an issue with a lot of people you see and hear these days. You come into OUR country- thats fine. We want you to be here. But learn OUR language, get a job, and go by OUR laws. It is not fair to us we have to cater to YOUR needs- its BS actually and thats what I have a problem with. Back in the day we had all these immigrants coming over to "better their lives" and live the american dream. Well, they did. They came over, they learned our language, they got jobs, and they accepted our laws. Thats how it should be! You want to keep your language and not respect us enought to learn ours- GO HOME!! I'm not racist but have some respect!  (Sep 26, 2008 | post #121)

Things Drivers Do That Piss Me Off

1.) I hate the people that i'm behind in the right lane and when i go to pass them on the left they speed up so i cant!! if they sped up in the first place i would'nt have passed them! 2.) Another pet peeve is the signal light!! TURN IT OFF when you're done! 3.) What about the people you see driving the UNSAFE cars on the road, with KIDS in the car, yet they have spent money to put wheels on it. SPEND WISELY. That was a stupid decision when the cars rotting from under you! You're putting me, my family, YOUR family, and everyone elses in danger! 4. OR the cars you drive by where the kids are bouncing around in the back seat! Buckle them up, they are CHILDREN!  (Sep 22, 2008 | post #209)

Baby falls out window

He is falling down on the floor, NOT out a window. there's a difference. Children to not just fall out a window. It goes beyond an accident. Like i stated earlier, if it were your child in the watch of another and they fell out the window... would you just say, "oh, it's just an accident. No big deal." and continue to leave them in that person's care??? I don't think so...  (May 14, 2008 | post #135)

Baby falls out window

the point is this isn't just an accident. it was easily preventable. whatever the reasons may be, it could have been prevented. if they were sleeping- the window shouldve been closed, or not open to the point where a child could fit (perhaps opened at the top is equipped), if they were awake, they shouldve been keeping a closer eye on the child. regardless the window shouldnt have been opened enough for the child to fall out esp if they're not going to watch them properly. people need to pay more attention when they have children in their care. end of story.  (May 12, 2008 | post #125)

Plainfield man faces desertion charges

Because the military is voluntary now I think soldiers should be allowed at certain times to "withdraw " from their services. They shouldn't be allowed to right before a war but within reason. We have many soldiers and god bless them all, but in the end it's their decision.  (May 9, 2008 | post #16)

Baby falls out window

A 7mo old child does not just fall out a window... it could have been prevented. if a child falls off a bike or falls down that's an accident. As a grand parent you should also child proof your house so maybe the bed against the window is just not smart or safe!?!? As a parent you need to assume the child will try and get into or out of anything they can and "child prrof" anything and everything so they cannot cause harm to themselves or others. That is your duty as a parent... if you don't it IS in fact neglect. I'm not saying this child's parents are "unfit" persay but this kind of accident doesn't just happen and they need to pay more attention. If this were your child that you left with a babysitter and they fell out a window would you just say, "o, no big deal.. it's just an accident. they happen every day. kids will be kids." HELL NO. and i'm sure you wouldn't continue to leave your child in their care. Open your eyes people. Be accountable for your actions. Be responsible. I hope this poor child is safe and well.  (May 9, 2008 | post #104)

Southington teacher resigns over bikini controversy

I saw that show!! haha. This is rediculous. If she went to school like that ok- but I have to agree with RBB on this- people wear bikinis at the beach! If she were naked- maybe that's a dif story but even so. This was on the Howard Stern show- none of her students should be watching this to see or watching anything where any part of his show can leak out. Parental controls people.... let's monitor our children instead of letting them do what they please!  (May 9, 2008 | post #9)

Woman who sued Old Saybrook, rescuers settles for $870,000

what a joke... she should be glad they rescued her at all! F'n B**ch. Her family should be glad she's alive! Did her son-in-law die?? If not, HE's the one to sue... what a bad driver. People need to accept responsibility and be accountable. People are pathetic.  (May 9, 2008 | post #7)
