A persons skin colour does not define them as a person.

I just saw this, and it is a real shame we on the whole are not fighting for the black corner  (Apr 21, 2012 | post #4)

Shifting The Roots Our Stories. Our Journeys. Our Voices

What a sore topic. it takes a strong women to go against society to say 'Black and Proud' What better way to make a statement than going 'Au Natural' It does surprise me how many of us have to conform to be accepted in society, by looking like our white sisters by relaxing our hair, weaving and the blessed wigs. We are not in our natural environment, the cold is not particularly that good for our type of hair. It's not that easy for us to wake up brush and go, it takes time and effort to care for our hair and we live such busy lives. It does not surprise me the fake revolution has taken our culture by storm  (Apr 21, 2012 | post #2)

Visiting the UK

Good for you, you will love the UK. London is a popular location, it's great for the amazing Architecture, clubs, famous shops like Harrodsburg. Google Uk tourist board, they will give you a lot of info. Scotland, is beautiful, historic but cold. Visit Wales, still plot of old castle ruins, Cornwall and Devon good for surfer's famous for the Cornish pasties that miner's used to eat down the mine shaft's. Best advice really is to plan ahead, the transport system is really good, but expensive. Book ahead and the fares are cheaper. Coach travel is really good. There are large black communities in London, Bristol, Liverpool, Birmingham and Manchester. The top 3 cities were the main slave ports so, naturally a large presence can be seen. London can be hectic, but people will give you the time of day.  (Apr 21, 2012 | post #2)

Black british vs afro-americans?

I can't believe this has been said. We have been persecuted for years, you cannot generalise and say the black man is dumb. the black culture has issues, but this is suitable for the powers that be for it to be so. United we are are a powerful race, so, don't you dare  (Apr 21, 2012 | post #155)

Black people more likely to be jobless in Britain than US...

Britain and the world has a long way to go, as seeing a man and woman beyond the color of his skin but by the potential within. Can you blame it on purely racism or is it a case of a lack of education. We are taught from a young age black is the negative color and white is the positive, unfortunately, there are not many black role models in Europe for the black man to look up to and for the white man to respect. I think the majority of the white population find it hard to relate to a black man and black women are more likely to get employment because they are not seen so much as a threat.  (Apr 21, 2012 | post #1)
