Higher gas prices making a comeback

Sure there is a reason for gas to be $3 per gallon and you said it in your post. Demand is high, so oil companies can charge pretty much what they please. Nothing will change because people will never give up their SUVs and other large vehicles...at least not without severe pain.  (May 8, 2007 | post #2)

Grandparents Want Custody Of Convicted Foster Parents' Kids

I don't know. The grandparents did so well with raising their children. Maybe they'll do better with the second generation.  (Apr 25, 2007 | post #2)

Nightclubs stay closed for now

You have a point that people can act a fool regardless of the time of day, but what good comes from these type of establisments being open so late?  (Apr 10, 2007 | post #2)

Woman Tasered after alleged attack

Do you have some inside information? Nothing in the article would suggest that she was protecting herself from the police. Of course, I don't have any idea why the police would need to kick down her door.  (Apr 6, 2007 | post #2)

Motorist killed in crash that levels three utility poles ...

I used to live a few blocks west of that intersection and can remember several bad accidents on State Street. My heart goes out to the victim's family.  (Apr 6, 2007 | post #2)

Assemblies of God

Slaying in the Spirit ?

Perhaps, I am missing your point, but there are many who believe that Jesus was in fact a great prophet and teacher, but don't believe in salvation through Jesus. Maybe that isn't the same thing you mean by Jesus coming in the flesh. I will say there are those who grace pulpits every Sunday that would tell you they believe in salvation though Jesus, but who's actions run contrary to that belief. We will always have this because we are human after all. I say test everything that you hear and see against the word of God. If it is inconsistant, reject it.  (Apr 2, 2007 | post #4)

Who killed the album? Not iTunes.

You've hit the nail on the head. I couldn't imagine my kids being able to sit still long enough to listen to Pink Floyd's The Wall or Dark Side of the Moon. It seems they also have a huge sense of entitlement. I want the one song and I want it now. Since Johnny already has the CD, just make me a digital copy so I don't have to spend any money.  (Apr 1, 2007 | post #8)

You can buy an entire CD on iTunes, Napster or anyone of the download sites and for less than you pay in the store.  (Mar 31, 2007 | post #4)

If your points were valid, then iTunes and other song download sites wouldn't have become so popular. There is no one answer to your question "who killed the album?". Certainly, musicians hold part of the blame. A lot of the music today is crap. But technology has some responsibility as well. Today you can produce copies and digital files that are as good as the original. Therefore, you can know get a quality recording for much less. The ability to "rip" a CD now means that you don't have to be the entire CD to get the one or two songs you want. With the explosion of peer to peer sites, you don't even have to buy those one or two tracks. If anything the early sites like Napster (old) and Kazaa have contributed to a culture that says I want what I want when I want and I don't want to pay for it. Oh, and for the record, technically, the CD killed the album.  (Mar 31, 2007 | post #2)

Thank you. My thoughts exactly. HAD he earned the confidence of his home state, he'd have been president.  (Mar 30, 2007 | post #6)

If you can't carry your home state, you should go quietly into the night and never be heard from again when it comes to presidential election talk.  (Mar 30, 2007 | post #3)
