Passlock Security system...

I have a 2000 impala ls i had the pass lock problem and the security light on for a while one day the car would not start after my mechanic who is my brother spent 4 hours calling around and trying everything he ever had a problem with in the past turned out the Ignition Lock Cylinder was fried so i got a new/used one at a junk yard for 25 bucks actually i purchased the whole ingntion wireing and all the cylinder went bad cause i had a aftermarket cd player instaled and the jack asses there hooked the power wire up the the power wire on the igniton switch and the clyinder lock fried. since replacing the Ignition Lock Cylinder i have had no problems and the security light has not turned on since. P.S un hooking the battery and all that will make the computer in the car think it is being stolen and only worsens the problem.  (Jan 29, 2008 | post #61)
