Has anyone heard of Pfizer's Chantix

I started 1 Nov 2007, smoked my 7 days, tapered off to 1 a day by 10 Nov and none since 11 Nove (my personal armistice day). I think the stuff is great and have had no problems with it. I drink beer and the only thing I can say about that is that I feel more chipper in the morning at the same rate but without the smoke. I would highly recommend that all smokers try this. There have been reports of depression, suicides, nausea, etc but I think it happenswith all drugs; i.e. not everyone can stomach every drug put out. After reading about the side effects I was afraid to take it but finally convinced my self to try it (aren't I a brave lad?!) Contrary to misguided aprehenions I found that I did not become a snarling beast, a ravenous hog, an ill-tempered ogre or even a dog in heat (though I've always been on the warm side). I for one consider myself to be one of the geese that lays the golden eggs that the politicians are killing off with increased taxes, BS rhetoricals, and misguided ambitions from bleeding heart liberals. I plan to stay away and STRONGLY beleive Chantix will get me past the craving stage and allow me to prove I'm man enough to not buy the things. I'll repeat: If you're a smoker then I think you need to try it. It works!  (Nov 28, 2007 | post #5962)

Chantix Concerns Prompt FDA Investigation

I've been on Chantix since 1 Nov 2007 and have had no suicidal urges. I have felt the need for an occasional smoke but a deep breath and the Chantix help me get past it. No smokes since 11 Nov 2007 (my own personal armistice day).  (Nov 28, 2007 | post #1)
