Man directed cops to J&R robbers

What a wonderful job by this man. THere should be more people like him in our community. Thank you for a job well done.  (Mar 13, 2009 | post #4)

Servaas case in Mich Supreme Court

It was quite apparent from the get-go that Judge Servaas got the wrong of the stick on this one. However, the election showed that even given all that the judge has gone through, the community supports him. As for the JTC, I hope Mr. Fisher is put through the ringer with the same treatment he has provided Judge Servaas. It will all come out in the laundry, I'm sure.  (Mar 4, 2009 | post #17)

Friends fans remember Rick Beckett

Rick will be sadly missed by so many people. Heaven gained another outstanding angel. There were many days I couldn't wait to awake and listen to the morning show. Rick provided the pick-me-up I needed to start the day. His differences, at times, with Scott made the show worth listening too. Rick had the compassion to listen and give back to so many callers. God be with who knew him personally.  (Feb 27, 2009 | post #12)

Man impaled climbing into own apartment

I believe most of the posts regarding this story are absolutely horrible. To wish something like this on someone, making crude jokes about it, and saying how dumb the man is at Christmas time is not really something I care to read about. I hope the man recovers from his wounds. And tell me, just how many of you making jokes about this man, have actually lost your keys at one time or another? Wake up West Michigan and stop being so rude.  (Dec 25, 2008 | post #28)

Truckers quit jobs to work for phantom company

I highly doubt Mr. Letts troubles have just begun. He may have lost everything over this woman, but I believe he is in for more than a job that never existed to begin with. I hope the woman and any others she is in cohorts in with, are caught and justice is done for the drivers in this story. I also pray that the drivers are allowed their previous jobs back or at least another trucking company willing to hire those who are affected by this story.  (Oct 9, 2008 | post #19)

Homicide victim texted roommate before death

The killer(s) can run but they cannot hide. It's amazing the materials investigators have nowadays to help them solve crimes. Fire investigators have specialists who can determine how fires start. My prayers to the family, friends, and the community during this difficult time. This is not a "forum". TV8 has provided a place for comments regarding the stories and that's what it should be used for. Not personal attacks and other conversations. Let's stick with the story and comments regarding them.  (Oct 8, 2008 | post #28)

3 companies, hundreds of area jobs

It is really nice to read about jobs that could have gone overseas staying in Michigan and offering jobs to some who are unemployed. I am an avid buyer of Bissell products and its great news they are expanding here. It would have been a huge loss to Walker and Michigan if they left. I don't think 2013 will come quick enough for many unemployed, but at least its a start.  (Sep 23, 2008 | post #7)

Vintage car found, suspects not

Thank God there was any damage to speak of. It's a shame that someone has to take something of such value and not have the guts to return the it rightfully. Hopefully, the suspects will be caught by fingerprints and whatever evidence they do find, and the person arrested and sentenced appropriately.  (Sep 23, 2008 | post #1)

Bank calls in Shell station's loan

It's always sad to see a business close, but bills have to be paid or the banks do call up loans. Sad situation all around, but it happens. Many more will be facing this situation in the coming months due to the financial insecurity the economy is now facing. Look at Wall Street, that's a pretty good indicator of whats to come.  (Sep 23, 2008 | post #9)

5 shot during drive-by in Grand Rapids

A review of the comments left here appear to be way off subject. It doesn't matter what ethnic background the suspects were. There was a time when a story like this would be shocking, but they aren't anymore. There are certain portions of the City of Grand Rapids that are more prone to this type of behavior. Just because of ethnicity or geographical area, doesn't mean that this behavior is acceptable to the community. It's still a crime and most of you have forgotten that people were injured for doing something Americans should have the freedom to do-sit on their porch at night and enjoy the last of the summers evening weather. I pray for those injured and I pray that the police catch those that did the shootings. By a community responding with such comments as have been left here, racial steroetyping DOES exist.  (Sep 20, 2008 | post #18)

Burglar charged with vehicle owner's death

It goes to show that the suspect got more than he bargained for. He probably thought he do the criminal activity but he did not think about "what happens if I get caught?" I doubt he'll try robbery again.  (Sep 10, 2008 | post #4)

Twp supervisor's pay slashed 80 percent

This is a total disgrace to our township! What this township needs is for the community to stand behind Mr. Mohr and march right on the township office and demand Bill Holland return the monies he's earned over the years he's been in office and payback to the township the difference instead of pocketing the money and leave office with a Ha! Ha! If the community supports Mr. Mohr, don't just talk about your support, do something about it.  (Sep 9, 2008 | post #36)

Mother of teen who hit teacher asks for help

I had a chance to recently visit Battle Creek VA health center. In front of the health center, there were a group of young boys in what appeared to be band practice. However, upon my comment about that, my husband replied that those boys were in boot camp due to bad behavior and they were sent there. Maybe this is what this child needs. It appears he cannot get help from the state or anyone else and he's become more than the mother can handle. Maybe if he was sent somewhere to learn how to deal with others and respect others maybe he would grow to be a respectable citizen. Instead of pleading for help through the media, the mother should speak to the judge and in the meantime call and see what type of boot camps are available for her son. I would be doing it if my child showed behavior as such.  (Sep 7, 2008 | post #22)

Business, home raided on S. Division

Drug lords, car scams, illegal immigrants, our cities don't need them and the community doesn't need them. Thank God someone is doing their job.  (Sep 4, 2008 | post #11)

Byron Center diabetic still missing

I wish Dean had been around to see how his stepdaughter pleaded for his safe return. Maybe it would have made a difference. Losing a job is a very hard thing to deal with emotionally. Without the love and support of my family, I would never have made it through. My prayers go out to this family during their time of sorrow. May God be with you all and give strength.  (Sep 3, 2008 | post #8)
