Thoracic Outlet Pts-How many Drs/surgeons were seen befor...

Hello, I had Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and had to see over 50 doctors and surgeons before I finally was blessed with finding an amazing surgeon, but it was a tough journey. I am curious of the few people suffering or who have suffered from TOS, how many providers you had to see prior to getting treatment. I welcome any questions or comments as well! thank you for your help! ~K  (Feb 18, 2012 | post #1)

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome questions/stories/answers

Hello Everyone, I am new to topix, but looking forward to future connections-learni ng new things as well as sharing the knowledge I have. At this particular point in time, I am looking to find out if anyone has any unique thoughts/perspecti ves on Thoracic Outlet Syndrome; What are common questions that people have who are dealing with TOS or know someone who is; What type of information would anyone like to know about this topic that you have been unable to find in previous searches either online, from doctors, or elsewhere; does anyone have any interesting/crazy stories to share about anything during a TOS journey (because it is a journey, it is not diagnosed or fixed with any sort of ease from both a patient and doctors point of view); has anyone had any luck finding a great dr to help on the first try?; any stories of success or failure?; for the few who have had the rib resection/scalenec tomy surgery, was the incision made above the collarbone or from below the underarm? anyone with anything to share, I am all ears! Would love to hear anything you have to share with me regarding this topic. I will definitely be keeping up with this site, but if anyone has anything to share or a question I may be able to answer, you can contact me if you have yahoo instant messaging. My yahoo IM is:Kerryucialumni Contact me via IM anytime and if i am not at my computer or my email (no spam plz) "Kerryucialum, I will respond as soon as I get back to it. Thank you very much for taking the time to read. I look forward to learning more as well as helping anyone with questions (I have been told much by many many physicians-it took me seeing 55+drs to FINALLY find my doc in shining armor who after 3 yrs with no help, he performed a seamless surgery w/in 2 wks and 8 wks out I am feeling SO much relief!)-anyways, since I have had yrs to find help, I have been online nonstop and reading all I can get my hands on about TOS and anything related and most drs tell me they are shocked at my knowledge...but TOS can be frustrating, so I was just trying to help myself by learning all I could so I could expedite my treatment if possible! <-Just a little bit about me since I am asking questions about y'all. I am more than happy to share my experiences with anyone. Take care, Kerry  (Dec 10, 2011 | post #1)
