Father meets daughter he never knew about - Hawaii News

If your mom wasn't a trailer trash mom, she might actually know who your daddy is, other than that it is on of a hundred plus guys.  (Jan 13, 2010 | post #9)

Legislature cuts 5 recess days in 2010 - Hawaii News

So this is the Legislatures answer, lets work less for you since we are only part time workers and we can justify this since the budget crisis caused everyone else to take pay cuts or furloughs.  (Jan 7, 2010 | post #21)

Aerial enforcement - Hawaii News

That is not money brought into the state. It is money spent by idiots in a market that probably is not taxed (illegal). Money that could be spent on other things that are taxed instead. Money that would contribute to the economy.  (Jan 5, 2010 | post #62)

Some UH staff still on duty during break - Hawaii News

UPW still working at the same pay rate, no furloughs and no pay cuts yet. They have been quietly sitting on the sidelines with no action since that is the best acton for them. Continue to let the teachers union and DOE fight it out, attention on HSTA and DOE losing money and UPW continues business as usual, sucking down any extra money that would help the budget. Looks like UPW wins in the long run unless Lingle is targeting more layoffs at UPW to make up for budget losses.  (Dec 27, 2009 | post #4)

Out there? Are you implying that you are locked up somewhere(the state mental hospital)? You don't have to imply that, we all figured that out for ourselves.  (Dec 23, 2009 | post #55)

Teachers, Lingle administration at stalemate on furlough ...

Notice how UPW has been quietly sitting on the sides. Still no contract, no furloughs and still getting the same pay. Attention drawn to HSTA so these "privileged " state workers (janitors, cafeteria workers, custodial and support) continue on and the same amount of money is being spent on them while they don't have anything to do on fridays.  (Dec 17, 2009 | post #10)

Wahine's season alive another week - Sports News

Up until the year the football team went to the sugar bowl, The football program was operating in the red. The Womens' volleyball team has consistently operated in the black. Get you facts straight before you claim the football team has been making up for other non-revenue generating sports when in fact the have been the largest waste of money in the UH athletics program.  (Dec 7, 2009 | post #13)

Cut the DOE budget in other things. This whole game plan by the DOE to make it hurt where the most people would be affected is working for them. They have not cutout the bloated administration or reduced in size the department.  (Nov 29, 2009 | post #32)

We stil are skirting around the issue of DOE getting audtited. DOE needs to cut the budget an equivelant amount and they have not done so yet.  (Nov 25, 2009 | post #40)
