Privatization vs. Government

I want to start out by saying that I do not disagree with you. I would however ask you this question. If you were to have all the correct answers to all the country's problems and I then said "Well I will agree with you if you compromise on this issue you so we can pass this bill"........ that's why neither side wins and the problems never stop.  (May 16, 2014 | post #9)

Again we are in agreement. The problem is as you state. So do people pry themselves from their smartphones and dvrs to tune into politics? We both know that won't ever happen. Society as it stands has been in the works for years. Create sheep and the wolves will rule. The über rich know it, the slightly less rich will conform to it to make more money. The middle class will believe the class warfare. The lower middle class (me) with a spark in their cerebellum will see it all for what it is. The poor, they are grasping at any straw and trying to survive another day. The system always rights itself either by blood or ink. The question is how bad will it get until it does.  (May 16, 2014 | post #6)

I read the article and can appreciate what your trying to display. However I am going to ask you to step back and look at the scenario from a different perspective. The "controlling " governments of the examples listed in the article relinquished control of those responsibilities. So who is at fault? The private corporations who are making to a of profit or the people being paid off in the governing bodies to allow them to control it. Arguing any side these days is futile. The entire system is corrupt. Just my two cents.  (May 16, 2014 | post #2)

Christians, your days are numbered

To believe solely in the bible is foolish god gave you a a mind effing use it, With that being said science doesn't have all the answers. Something this grand as the universe didn't just happen for shits and giggles and the chances of any of us knowing the true beginnings of anything is less likely then winning the lottery or instantly being able to grow wings and fly. I say have some form of faith in something and try to help out the next generation because we are all going to take a dirt nap in the end. Maybe there is something at the end of all of this maybe there is not. Anyone still drawing a breathe doesn't know 100% sure either way. If there is awesome I'm having a long conversation with the creator and if there is nothing in the end you won't know. Live your life because its all any of us have.  (Mar 31, 2014 | post #143)

Obama care

The policy's being cancelled I think of like this. The baseball coach tells one of his best hitters to bunt. The child has no choice but to listen to the coach and he does so, and the team looses the game. So now we blame the kid for bunting and loosing the game. Its the coaches fault. Any time something is forced onto the people whether knowingly or unknowingly is in straight contradiction with liberty. When you have a boot on your throat it is trivial as to whether it is the LEFT or the RIGHT.  (Mar 31, 2014 | post #27)

Black thugs commuting robbery

I'm not worth arguing with because I have a view different from you? Hmm. So black should be treated different because of the color of their skin yet I am white and "not worth it" as you put it. Who's racist now? I know the truth hurts but take it all in anyway. :)  (Feb 4, 2014 | post #29)

Oddly enough I didn't hear a rebuttal, just a cheap shot at wether or not he's my kid and he is. So please by all means refute anything I have said I welcome the challenge.  (Feb 1, 2014 | post #21)

LoL George Zimmerman was reported as white he's Hispanic. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Spike Lee want to come out whenever there is "other race" on black crime but where are they when some black males are punching random people in the streets? Sounds to me like the black people need to handle some things in their own house hold. You got integrated into white schools in the 60's eh? I see that is you have had over 50 years to make something of yourself, now it's just an excuse if you haven't. No one is stopping black youth from picking up a book instead of a lil Wayne cd, gun and a dime bag. Slavery you say? Blacks were sold BY blacks in Africa for guns in gold yet another example of you race selling itself out. Kanye can say *igger 6 time in a song but a white guy says it and it's racist. Hypocrisy at its finest. Stop making excuses and do something productive. Every race has problems these days. Example I'm a ginger and don't mind being called such but because of the color of my skin why do blacks get to stay outside in the sun longer then me? I pay taxes and work but why do I have to wear sunblock and have a higher risk of cancer....... See how stupid that sounds. Bottom line we all end up in the dirt eventually make the best of the time you have and stop *bitching. P.S. Go ahead call me a racist, pull that card it's what you've been raised and told to do but the irony is my child is mixed..... swallow that and choke on it!  (Feb 1, 2014 | post #15)

End all entitlements

Safety nets are fine, but they all by design are only meant to hold a certain amount of weight.  (Jan 28, 2014 | post #14)

Mr Tapper And Mr independent

Man the stupidity of some. They are not the same person. They may speak on the same topics but the way in which they speak have differences. With that being sad, if you choose to argue with someone and then feel the need to cry about the fact they don't agree with your point of view, just remember it's the Topix and you can leave at any time.  (Dec 29, 2013 | post #45)

Congratulations to you both. Debate should never be a bad thing. It's the only way people see things from another perspective.  (Dec 22, 2013 | post #15)

Obamacare

Thank you for the compliment, I try my best to be rationale. I also believe you nailed it when you brought up accountability. This is the root of a mass majority of our problems in this country. The system and laws in which this country was founded on were by no means perfect because quite frankly that is not possible but I think for the most part we can all agree that it's has worked well as a whole. Now you have all manner of businesses along with think tanks psychologists etc. that have had years to research, examine and quite frankly corrupt this system. Couple that with a divide and conquer approach and you have the poisoning from within that we have today. What allows this? People being promised that something is for the greater good, people who disagree for whatever reason being ostracized because they don't willingly submit under the guise they are "hindering progress" or are for big business. It's not as simple as one side or the other anymore. We have no accountability (in a swift capacity) anymore. If a senator or congressman or president is not doing their job or performs a act of treason or takes money from a major corporation etc etc they should get the boot plain and simple. Here's why in my opinion. They have just enough to create a slave state or continuation of then loose the next election and draw a paycheck for the rest of their lives. Then the powers that be insert the next guy and the next so on and so forth. Now yes presidents can be impeached and senators and congressman can be voted out but the chances of that happening are slim to none because most of the population still has the wool still pulled over its eyes those who see things for here they are headed are deemed gun carrying nut jobs or extremist. In conclusion I guess I am left with these two choices like most are allow myself to be caught up in the possibility of healthcare for all and no one has anymore worries of care and financial stability or see it the way I do, a couple hundred politicians and major corporations all getting together and coming up with yet another way to fleece the masses of what they have left to fuel their power and greed. This country has at any given time had the money to give every man woman and child one millions dollars that's 1/3 of what the ACA is estimate to cost. Now why has that never been a viable option. How about dividing up 1 trillion amongst us all? They have us arguing over subsidies and who's right and what's moral, when all along we have missed the obvious.  (Nov 24, 2013 | post #141)

Obamacare

Thank you for the honesty in regards to the electric. I would feel the same way, just like I don't want to pay for a bunch of welfare queens and complete drains on society or those that have just given up to have health insurance. I know it will be forced down my throat but that doesn't mean I am just going to roll over and not say a word. Society today has a bad habit of finding a good cause and making everyone else pay for it. I wish this country would return to a time with morals, intestinal fortitude and hard work. I fear those days are long gone and are not returning anytime soon.  (Nov 24, 2013 | post #139)

Obamacare

I'm not for the insanely rich not having to fork something over there is no reason for that amount of money to be controlled by one person. We agree on this however but here is where it gets dicey you can't argue any law towards one set of people whether you or I like it or not. Then you have the gem in which you speak of, caring about very one else. You cannot protect everyone on this planet it is not possible, it's called free will. If I were to tell you my electric will be turned off at the end of this week and that my house will then turn cold which could cause a illness in one of my children that could cause them to die am I to expect you to be at my door step tomorrow with a check? It's 275 by the way. I guess that's where it all falls down huh. By the way the ACA is providing all of that insurance and security at a higher cost to the middle and lower class, so isn't that counter productive by your argument? I could see if Fortune's 400 was paying for it but they are not. Then on top of it all the rich company owners will have the option to reduce hours make people part time and kick them to the exchanges and pay a small fine, yet again we aren't draining the rich we are helping them once again. So what side of this are you on?  (Nov 24, 2013 | post #137)
