Does Obama trip to Hawaii pass the sniff test?

Well, McCain went back AFTER getting caught in a lie to Dave Letterman, and his presence didn't really make a difference, in fact may have been a hindrance to the situation. And dissing Letterman in and of itself is not important, it's the BLATANT LIE that he told. Spin it any way you want, a lie is a lie is a lie. Now, Madelyn Dunham is "gravely ill" but alert. It's speculated that she may not live to see the results of the election. Being "alert" maybe she chose to be at home. And can you imagine how hard it must be for Obama that he comes home to see her and has to resume campaigning the very next day? It's true that one seeking leadership of this country must be able to "see the forest for the trees", which may include putting aside personal hardships for the betterment of all, but put yourself in his shoes. Would you be able to do the same? You're where exactly? Maine? I live in Hawaii, Obama's BIRTHPLACE, we get updates on Toots condition daily. Once again, I say to all, do not speak through your a$$ of things you know nothing of.  (Oct 24, 2008 | post #15)

Federal Juidge Orders Obama To Show Birth Certificate!

Yes, facing intense scrutiny while campaigning for U.S. President, Obama thought, "gee, maybe I should forge my birth certificate?" That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in this campaign yet.  (Oct 22, 2008 | post #106)

Is Barack Obama A "Son of Hawaii"?

Nope sorry. He was born in Hawaii and his State of Hawaii birth certificate states his birth name as Barack Hussein Obama II. Dismissed! Next! http://www.snopes. com/politics/obama /birthcertificate. asp  (Oct 21, 2008 | post #18)

Remembering Hawaii in the 70’s and 80’s

I remember pencil fights, they were banned in my school (Waikiki elementary). In addition to the flexible "Choice" brand pencils, remember the "Goliath " pencils that some chose to use? The thick pencil? I also used to cover my folders w/colored 3M tape and report covers. Some kids made some elaborate ones, folding'em in half, with different pockets, velcro, pencil holders, etc. And by the time we reached high school in the 80's, does anyone remember spinning folders and books on your finger? That was a pretty big fad then too.  (Aug 27, 2008 | post #2906)

Hawaiian Telcom reports losses of $30M

If you're talking wireless broadband (Mobi, clearwire, etc.) they run on cellular technology, again, on T1 lines installed and maintained by Hawaiian Tel, and are subject to the same problems as cell phone service.  (Aug 18, 2008 | post #96)

Sure, if the power's still on. Or you have a laptop on battery power and use dial-up on POTS. Then you'd have to assume that the email recipient has power or dial-up service. Oh, and the cell phones that did work? ALL cell sites, no matter what company, are fed by T1's running on Hawaiian Tel's network. The T1's were fine. Any problems with cell service were due to higher than normal call volumes or your cell providers equipment.  (Aug 18, 2008 | post #95)

And happy trees alongside the happy stream or lake! I recall the other show you're talking about, but can't remember the name of the show or artist.  (Aug 15, 2008 | post #2774)
