Assistant Principal Accused Of Arranging Student Drug Deal

Ok, let's work on the whole sentence then... take out the double negative too. She shouldn't be allowed ANY where near a school system. Or she should be allowed no where near a school system. Class dismissed :)  (May 9, 2009 | post #11)

Psychiatric Board Delays Decision On Day Trips For Messenger

If this mans has that much money, why is he not giving it back to the State of Connecticut for the care he's received in the past 8 years? Are the taxpayers footing the bill for someone with that much money?  (May 3, 2009 | post #23)

Three Simsbury Teens Injured After Crashing Stolen Car

Not all teenagers break the law. If you think this is a common occurrence of "kids being kids" then that is just sad. As far as the car owner - what is wrong with you? It's no one else's car but the owners. No one has a right to take it. I don't care if the keys were in there, it's not the owners fault. You have a ton of growing up to do. I really hope you didn't get that attitude from your parents. If you did, they did a poor job of teaching you right from wrong.  (Apr 10, 2009 | post #202)

Crash Of Stolen Car Captures Attention Of Parents In Sims...

I certainly don't mean to be harsh, but sympathy for the kids? Please tell me why. Because they stole something that didn't belong to them? Because they wouldn't stop for the police? Because they crashed someone's car? Because they snuck out of the house at 2am? Which should I show sympathy for? Yes they did something stupid, but that does not mean I should show sympathy "just because their kids." How are they or anyone else going to learn that their actions have consequences? Yes, after thinking about it, I did misspeak in my first posting when I was blaming the parents for not knowing where the kids were. And by the way, I remember what it was like to be a kid, but I can tell you that neither my circle of friends, nor my siblings, ever snuck out of the house. Maybe some others kids that I went to school with did, but not everyone does. We all knew the consequences. No, we were not perfect angels, but we knew limits. All of our parents backed up the teachers and each other. If we got in trouble at school or at a friend's house, we got in trouble at home. Stealing and sneaking out isn't something all kids do.  (Apr 10, 2009 | post #62)

I know this won't be a popular posting, but I'm saying it anyway :) Everyone makes mistakes. Leaving the keys in the car happens. That does NOT give people the right to take a car that does not belong to them. Don't blame the person of the car that was stolen. It wasn't anyone's car to take. I'm so tired of the victims being blamed because they made mistakes. I know this isn't the world we live it, however anyone should be able to leave their doors unlocked, keys in the car, what have you, because regardless of whether doors/car are locked or not, it's not anyone else's property to take or steal from...period. The blame lies soley on the teenagers who stole the car and the parents who didn't know where those 3 kids were at 2am.  (Apr 10, 2009 | post #35)

Time To Share The Pain: State Employees Seek To Avoid Lay...

Are state employees allowed to bank sick time or vacation time forever? I know of a couple of former state workers who retired to part time status but were paid full time salary because of all the sick time and vacation they banked. I don't know if they got paid in current salary for days they saved from years ago either. Where I work, we're blessed in that we can save sick time up to 16 weeks to use for FMLA if we're sick. However, if you don't use the sick time when you leave (either by retirement or what have you), you lose it. Vacation time - you're only allowed to accrue 1.5 times the amount you're allowed, then it stops accruing until you use it. Someone with 3 weeks vacation can have 4.5 weeks accrued and then it stops until they take time off. There is no accruing until retirement and then using it.  (Mar 2, 2009 | post #160)
