Simply because there are far more straight people out there, there are far more straight pedophiles out there than gay. Gays detest child molesters as much as straights do. There is nothing more disgusting to us, when an adult takes advantage of a child--male/male, male/female, female/female, it's all bad. You're wrong. A reputable realtor will fully explain HOW to buy your home, and will negotiate for the best price. But nowhere does it say that your realtor is there to advise you on what you can and cannot afford. That is YOUR responsibility. If you don't KNOW what you can afford, then you need to read about it, spend lots of time with your lender learning about it, or even finding a financial advisor to help you. Sure, there are bad realtors out there, but the current crisis is because bad loans were made. That's the LENDERS, not the realtors!
