Prove there's a god.

Do you remember the heliocentric model of our solar system? How well did that go down in the beginning? What about Germ theory? Did it catch on just a quick? So you're saying that the majority of humans have a history of accepting demonstrable claims that are counterintuitive or conflict with the established world view? After all popular opinion is the measure of truth is it not? p.s. I feel the need to point out that the above questions are rhetorical since I doubt you lack the intelligence to discern that for yourself.  (Jun 1, 2011 | post #291447)

I find that most often, proponents of ID often rely too heavily on inductive reasoning, with this logic you can only ever suggest truth, but never ensure it. Anyway, just an observation :)  (Jun 1, 2011 | post #858)

It's called conformation bias. And precisely why you should look at an issue from all angles and without presupposition.  (May 31, 2011 | post #291137)

Atheism requires as much faith as religion?

Perhaps your boots were there the whole time, but you simply did not have the faith or desire to see them?  (May 31, 2011 | post #24237)

Becareful what you ask for. You have bought into the assumption that absolute perfection is indeed real and therefore have opened yourself up to all manner of fundie rationalizations. You have been warned.:)  (May 31, 2011 | post #291126)

For some reason this reminds me of The Boondock Saints.  (May 31, 2011 | post #24234)

I reject your presupposition that Geebus actually existed and that he was indeed of divine origin. Neither case has been demonstrated empirically and so to make claims based on this presupposition is a fallacy. It might help if you read other books besides those that are obvious religious propaganda.  (May 31, 2011 | post #291123)

Christian

What if u go to hell for belief in Jesus.

The bible is simultaneously the most abundant book and the least read. Thus through your fallacious assertions I can assume you have not read it for yourself. More than likely, you just regurgitate what you are told about it and accepts its validity on faith alone.  (May 31, 2011 | post #35)

I'm starting to think that John is a dualist, especially how he rants about materialism being misguided.  (May 31, 2011 | post #54772)

I wouldn't say it poses a threat for peace, but there certainly is polarization in the U.S. and it's usually liberal against conservative. And all atheists get lumped in to the liberal category, by the conservatives and vice versa. Increasingly the main divide in our country has essentially become science vs religion, at least in the most outspoken incidents. Oh almost forgot, homosexuality gets allot of heat as well.  (May 31, 2011 | post #291032)
