Jaguars left out of postseason play

IUPUI got hosed by the NIT and that CBI farce. Sixteen teams and not a one has a better winning percentage, less losses or higher RPI. What a joke.  (Mar 17, 2008 | post #4)

22 cars, semis pile up in northern Indiana

Did Mitch Daniels make it snow, too? Just because the rooster crows at sunrise doesn't mean the rooster caused the sun to rise. These accidents are not the fault of Mitch Daniels or "foreign corporations" that rent the Indiana Tol Road. And oh yeah, this happened on I-94, not the Toll Road. Your argument is full of more holes than Swiss cheese.  (Feb 20, 2008 | post #23)

Montgomery scores 18 as Oral Roberts suffers first Summit...

This was a must-win game for IUPUI; not as much for ORU. I'm certainly not diminishing what this game meant, but IUPUI needs to run the table and get a little help to get the #1 seed in the conference tourney. Either way, great win. Don't miss IUPUI play Oakland on FSN Thursday night.  (Feb 19, 2008 | post #5)

Horizon League arenas filling up for ranked Bulldogs

I don't have any stats to back it up, but there are a few factors that might play into Butler's low home attendance. First of all, I would bet most basketball fans in Indiana are either Hoosier fans or Boilermaker fans first. Everything and everybody else falls to a distant second. Second, Butler is a private school. I'm sure there's a perception that these aren't local kids (even though Butler has more in-state kids on its roster than IU, oddly enough). Third, two names: Knight and Keady. To IU and Purdue fans, they're larger than life. These are just whimsical observations. By no means do I mean to detract from Butler.  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #22)

3 IU football players arrested

Your statement implies you lay blame on the coach. Why is that? Was Lynch there, partying with his players? Fault lies squarely with these players, not the coach.  (Feb 12, 2008 | post #15)

Giants lead Patriots 3-0 in 1st quarter of Super Bowl XLII

The two best coaches? "Affirmative Action" boy? Wow. It wasn't that long ago when Tom Coughlin was on the hot seat because his team was under performing. I wouldn't be so quick to call him one of the two best coaches. Belichick, no doubt, is one of the best (if not THE best) at preparing a team for a game. But Tom Coughlin isn't the #2 brain in the NFL.  (Feb 3, 2008 | post #431)

Giants lead Patriots 3-0 in 1st quarter of Super Bowl XLII

Uh, no. You must have me confused with someone else. I thought the Pats would win, but didn't think they'd beat the spread. It's not like I had any rooting interest in the game.  (Feb 3, 2008 | post #279)

Giants lead Patriots 3-0 in 1st quarter of Super Bowl XLII

I know a lot of Colts fans are saying Brady choked, but I wouldn't go that far. He DID lead the Pats to a go-ahead TD with 2-1/2 minutes (or so) remaining on the clock. It's what he always does. It just so happened that Eli Manning went one better than Brady. He earned that MVP tonight. Even with 30 seconds left, I honestly expected Brady to get them into field-goal range. The Giants earned it tonight.  (Feb 3, 2008 | post #161)

Jagnificent! Patterson scores 37, hits 11-of-15 3s

Minor point, but three of IUPUI's remaining opponents currently have winning records. * Oral Roberts * Oakland * North Dakota State Sure, Oak and NDSU are only one game over .500, but you said winning records. As for Oral Roberts...IUPUI lost to them by one point at Tulsa...without Austin Montgomery. The rematch here in Indy will be the best game all season.  (Feb 1, 2008 | post #7)

Judge to 25-year inmate cleared in slaying: "You're free ...

He was wrongfully imprisoned. He spent 24 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. He was not charged as an accessory or anything else. He served time for a crime he did NOT commit and nothing else about this supports a claim that he took part in any way. No one hear feels less sympathy for the victim in the crime, but let's not convict the guy in the court of public opinion when nothing supports what you're saying. Merely asking the question as you did smacks of bias.  (Jan 29, 2008 | post #210)

This situation continues to underscore why you never enter the legal system without counsel; innocent or guilty.  (Jan 29, 2008 | post #164)
