Deputies use phony contest in La Mirada to make arrests
This ruse works especially well with Latinos and African-Americans. Why, because they always have their hands out for a freebie. And what I really find amazing is that they will bring their kids along on one of these jaunts. Either to show them the ropes on how to get free stuff, or how to dump them off on Family Social Services. (8 hrs ago | post #35)
Four tagging suspects jailed in South Pasadena
Sounds to me like you have a lot of issues pal. My impression here is that your a minority and your having a hard time dealing with it. Be that as it may, the point I was trying to make was the stress these taggers put on their families when they get busted for this type of crime. Please try and deal with your racial burden and don't be so hard on yourself for having feelings of an inferiority complex. You can't help what you are, just try and deal with it the best you can. Good luck to you. (Monday Nov 23 | post #27)
Four tagging suspects jailed in South Pasadena
Hey, these kids were tagging in the "river bed", next to the freeway. How is that destroying our community. Theirs nothing down there but rocks and old concrete embankments. Nobody goes down there but taggers and lost dogs. Hell, you can't even see the tagging unless your looking for it while driving down the 110. And even then, you shouldn't be looking around for tagging off the freeway due to how dangerous that freeway is to drive anyway. Now if these little punks are out tagging buildings or walls and fences in town that's a different story. I feel sorry for the parents of these kids, their the ones that are going to have to come up with the dough for fines and court costs. Not to mention the inconvenience of taking off work to attend all those court dates. This is a real burden on the families of these knuckleheads. They never stop and think about the repercussions their actions bring upon their loved ones. (Sunday Nov 22 | post #8)
Kidnapping case solved after 26 years
The long arm of the law has taken on a whole new meaning. DNA, fingerprints taken decades ago now entering databases, it's enough to raise your heartbeat if your a past evildoer. Today, all you need to do is drop a hair or a bead of sweat at a crime scene and your as good as busted if they got your goodies on file. It should be enough to make a crook go straight, the ones with a half a brain that is. (Saturday Nov 21 | post #4)
Colorado man comes home, finds squatter in underwear
Yeah, just come on in and make yourself to home. To Mr. Timothy P. Gonzales, "mi casa es tu casa" is not to be taken lightly. (Thursday Nov 19 | post #2)
Jerry Brown again? Some Democrats express unease
My God, is their no end to that old queen. I liken Jerry Browns political expertise as that of Ted Kennedy's, all talk and no action. Their are a few of these worthless old political hacks that should just dry up and blow away. Are you listening Jerry. (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #8)
Feds decline to re-try convicted Caltech graduate on arson charges
I get it, because this guy is a genius he should be given special treatment and a pass on his wrongdoings. Hey no problem, lets just release everyone from the joint with an IQ of 140 or higher. Lets just chalk up all those burned vehicles as a,....slight error in judgment. (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #2)
Vandals hit Pasadena High with blue paint, one week before annu...
Why not enlist the help from some volunteers to oversee and walk the campus 24/7 a couple weeks before game time. I'm sure they could get a few poor suckers to hang around on cold nights waiting for some sort of malfeasance. It's a shame about PHS's field though, I've seen what they have done to improve it, and it is mighty impressive. I'll bet the vandals got a rush out of trashing the place though. Ahh,.. to be young and foolish once again. (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #5)
LAPD officer charged for trying to export guns
looks like maybe 23 years with the force may go up in smoke. It is quite possible that a good cop who made a mistake could end up a civilian without a pension. What a bummer that would be. (Tuesday Nov 3 | post #6)
South Pasadena, La Canada Flintridge lose 710 tunnel lawsuit
I haven't made that commute in many years. I use to live in South Pasadena and know all about those whining crybabies that reside there. To hell with them and their unimportant stupid little hamlet. I say forget tunneling, just get a dozen or so Bulldozers abreast and get down to it. Just avoid Bristol Farms and the Shakers Restaurant across the street. Everything else can fall by the wayside. But not to worry, I doubt it will ever happen in our lifetime, or anybody else's for that matter. (Friday Oct 30 | post #53)
South Pasadena, La Canada Flintridge lose 710 tunnel lawsuit
I take it you have never made the commute through Alhambra during rush hour on Atlantic Blvd. or Fremont Ave. If you had, you wouldn't make such an asinine statement. (Oct 29, 2009 | post #48)
Two men shot at North Hollywood synagogue
"Police were unsure of a motive", I'll give you a motive, hate filled anti semitic Jew haters. And what the hell are they questioning a young black kid for. You would have to look far and wide to find a black man with a Jew hating complex. This is white mans crime, hands down. Unless it's a case of mistaken identity. But it looks like whomever shot these two men were quite aware of whom they were targeting. Lets hope their caught, because if it is a hate crime will be hearing more of the same in the not to distant unfortunate future. (Oct 29, 2009 | post #1)
South Pasadena, La Canada Flintridge lose 710 tunnel lawsuit
"The judge in the case wrote that just because the money was allocated, does not mean the MTA is committed to actually building the tunnel." And all of us that are in the "know", and that have been around a few years, realize exactly what that means. And what is that Boys and Girls, that's right, that puppy ain't never going through. More rhetoric, more delays, more lawsuits, yakety yak and the beat goes on. Fifty years from now, if were all still around, they will still be debating the 710 extension. YAWN !! Masked gunman robs Altadena gas station
This station was just robbed a couple weeks ago. But then again this Arco lies right in the middle of the DMZ at Fair Oaks and Woodbury, so what do you expect. Lets face it, like all business's that reside in the Pasadena Rwanda section of the city they need armed security with loaded shotguns at all times. And with the safeties off and fingers on the triggers to protect their establishments. (Oct 26, 2009 | post #4)
