Astronaut Invents Zero-G Coffee Cup
That proves it - Don Pettit is the MacGyver of the astronaut corps! He also invented a device during his previous visit to ISS (back in 2002/2003) used to take long time exposures of city lights at night. The exposures he needed were long enough to be smeared by the orbital motion of the space station, so he invented a contraption to compensate for that motion and produced many spectacular pictures of cities around the world. Police: 90-year-old living with 3 siblings' bodies
Wait a minute - it wasn't just her who lived with her dead siblings - at least 2 other dead siblings lived with the first one too. Strange, but not unheard of. Hard to imagine what would make you live like that. (Nov 8, 2008 | post #8)
Indian spacecraft enters lunar orbit, makes history
Compared to all the other pollutants we put into the atmosphere, the small number of rockets launched into space does next to nothing to our atmosphere. I know of 12 people who have lived on the Moon. We'll have more humans living up there and hopefully on Mars in the not too distant future. And when was the last time we "bombed" the Moon? It's certainly not "regularly ", that is at least since the early 1970s when we last "regularly " crashed a few of our rockets and spacecraft into the lunar surface to study the internal structure of the Moon with the seismometers that some of the 12 people I mentioned before left on the Moon. Indian spacecraft enters lunar orbit, makes history
Congratulations to India on becoming the 5th nation to send a spacecraft into orbit around the Moon. It might sound easy to do, but it isn't. (Nov 8, 2008 | post #6)
British Man Says He Invented iPod in 1979
And Da Vinci invented the helicopter, so what? Did he develop the idea and did Steve Jobs steal it from him? (Sep 10, 2008 | post #5)
Death Threats Surround the Large Hadron Collider Launch
Some people have watched too many movies with "Eee-villl " scientists in white lab coats. Another wacky end of the world claim will have come and gone by the end of the day.... (Sep 10, 2008 | post #4)
Old School Apollo RS-18 Engine Gets Fired Up Again After ...
The old ascent stage engine runs again! This engine returned 6 crews from the lunar surface and worked flawlessly in two others. Great to see it put back into service, at least as a test for our return to the Moon. This little engine was probably the source of more grey hairs as NASA probably crossed its collective fingers each time it had to work to get the astronauts off the Moon. But it never failed. I agree, the return to the Moon and beyond should be properly funded so we can do it right. (Sep 6, 2008 | post #3)

Congratulations Tiger & family! I wonder if little Sam is swinging a golf club yet. She's over a year old and probably was out on the driving range before she could walk.... :) Sheesh, she can probably outplay me already.... (Sep 4, 2008 | post #19)
Michael Moore to release new film online for free
I wouldn't watch this idiots films if he paid me to..... Falling off the Earth would be too good for the moron because that would put him in space were I'd like to be. (Sep 4, 2008 | post #8)
Study - no connection between measles, mumps, rubella vac...
So now all we need to do is get the Jenny McCarthy's of the world to pay attention to real science and put their mouths were the data supports them rather than scare mongering people out of vaccinating their children and keeping the diseases they've squelched for decades in check. All we need are measles, mumps and rubella outbreaks. (Sep 4, 2008 | post #1)

U.S. Cyclists Apologize to China for Masks
When you can't see the tops of sky scrapers due to the smog, I think it is the Chinese government who should be apologizing. Our bicyclists need better masks, not to issue apologies..... (Aug 6, 2008 | post #14)
