My Oakland Raiders Cuts at seasons end.

We can cut some of these cuz we do have alot of draft picks and some of these guys can always come back. we also have players on the practice squad who can play. like Rankin.  (Jan 2, 2010 | post #6)

I could see that but we will have 9 draft picks this year so we may change more than that. but you gotta add Jon Condo to the list that guy is great at what he does on special teams.  (Jan 2, 2010 | post #5)

My Draft

Loved where you went with this only thing i would ask you is. Did D Mac have a bad year cuz of the QB play? I think it may have every time he was in the game they tried to go his way whether it be the run or motioning him out. It all starts with the passing game. Now a days the pass seems to set up the run more. I do like your ideas about having D Mac back as a RB/WR/Returner but remember when our return game was good.....It was cuz Higgins was also back returning kickoffs too. him and D Mac back there run some reverses. Sounds like a plan to me.  (Jan 2, 2010 | post #6)

sounds good to me. i'm not going to fully give up on Russell. He knew coming into the season he was the starter. Now this next off season he may realize that he has to work harder or he could be cut. I hope he uses that motivation to get this thing right. I would drop him after the camp. But on the other hand we do need to sign some QB's. I'd bring in 5 to all the off season workouts and cut down before camp then again during preseason.  (Jan 1, 2010 | post #3)

My Draft

I really believe that Al should have a great draft this year. Unless he is on some Jack and Coke during the entire thing. There are a lot of great players atop the list. We will need help in all areas. I believe it all depends on what we do in free agency and resigning. So all these predictions are ludicrous until then.  (Dec 31, 2009 | post #1)

Big Al time to go to the spread.....Call Mike Leach.

This would be a crazy but interesting coaching pick up. Mike Leach for O-Coordinator and team disciplinary.......hahahaha that would be great. Happy New Years.  (Dec 31, 2009 | post #1)

The Raiders Need To Go Back to the Drawing Board and Fire...

I agree with the play caller that would free up more time for cable to deal with the o-line. If you bring Gruden in I would only want to see him roaming the sidelines as the head coach.  (Dec 31, 2009 | post #6)

Happy New Years. i would possibily keep Russell only if he cuts down that contract if not gotta ditch him there are alot of free agent help we could use. I would keep DHB only cuz i think the Raiders need to fire their WR coach. If I was AL i would let Cable start to have more control. Like signing his own staff. Call up Mike Leach as an Offensive coordinator.....haha that would be awesome.  (Dec 31, 2009 | post #11)

Many people out there are dawging Tom Cable's abilities to coach when in fact they need to realize what he has done and what the Raiders options are. Cable has his hands full all year with two major situations. 1) he has to play Russell 2) has to play DHB. With Al Davis running this ship Cable has two players who are potential bust. On Russell- Cable has had to minimize the play book so a third grader could figure it out. On DHB- Cable was forced to start him over Murphy when Schilens came back. Ways to possibly fix this- hire a GM, get a quality QB, change the defense to one that isn't readable by a third grader, last get players that are actually good-draft better. If you think Cable isn't the right coach then please feel free to write me and let me know our options and remember to really think about it. (like hiring Jon Gruden back knowing it may never happen) Real coaching candidates.  (Dec 30, 2009 | post #1)

The Raiders Need To Go Back to the Drawing Board and Fire...

Two things wrong with this entire article. Number 1 look at the teams Cable couched for in college, it’s not like they were excellent school. they were lower class athletic schools. Number 2 remember this always Al Davis runs the team, also he wasn’t talking about not starting Schilens it was not starting Murphy over DHB when Schilens returned. Point being Al wanted his number 1 draft pick out there. In my personal opinion every receiver should be able to play any receiving position. Unless you’re a Wes Welker type. One last note Cable is a good coach (not saying he is the right coach) he was under heat all season and kept it away from the players. He was only able to call a small list of plays due to his QB situation. Let’s get a QB then we will talk about him. Look at what we did to Norv Turner and how he has done with good players. Get Cable the right players and let’s judge him then. There is only one clear problem here and it starts with Russell and the QB situation. Unless you hand over the keys to the ship to Jon Gruden then let’s stick with Cable and work on the players. My question to everyone is if he is so bad who would you replace him with.  (Dec 30, 2009 | post #2)

Raiders vs NFL Refs

People may say the Raiders brought it on....could be. looking at the tape it clearly shows the Browns started it after Seymour made a nice tackle and was getting off the running back as a linemen pushed him. After that it all went downhill. The way I see it no matter how out of control the game gets the Refs need to be professionals and ref the games correctly. They get paid they should get fined as well. If a player touches a ref its an automatic ejection but if a ref puts his hands on a player its not the same call. if your small a$$ is going to touch a big man you need to realize things may occur badly. My main point is the NFL needs to have a meeting with all these Refs and explain to them that the Raiders are treated differently in every aspect all season long on about 30+ plays have gone against the raiders and more than half should have went the other way. Raiders could and should have still won that game. no excuses. but we as fans deserve to see far games.  (Dec 28, 2009 | post #1)
