Teacher busted growing marijuana

Well said indeed! Once the eyes are open it is impossible to go back to sleep on this issue. Would these irresponsible laws have been adopted had the criminalization of Cannabis not been such a money maker for the state and/or country by incarcerating "productive citizens into the penal system"? And is it not imperative, now more than ever with the current economic crisis, to begin to listen to the science and what it is telling us about marijuana? Is it not time to begin to envision the number of jobs and amount of state revenue that could be generated by the decriminalization, regulation, and taxation of marijuana? The brainwashing has continued for too long. The facts are in the science.. and the science is telling us that this plant is less harmful to us than a cup of coffee. Oklahoma has always been behind when the most relative and groundbreaking changes have occurred in this country. We now have a chance to be ahead of the pack and to help pave the way for logical thinking that could spread worldwide. I for one am writing my congressman. I hope you will do the same.  (Aug 28, 2010 | post #19)

Teacher busted growing marijuana

Unfortunately I have met this "stoned teacher" on many different occasions as my child was at one time in her class. Two things should be noted and noted well; What this woman chooses to do on her own time is no ones concern but her own. As long as her recreation use of pot was in her own home and not on school property I have no issues. Secondly, she and her husband haven't been charged with intent to distribute, only cultivation and possession. So "selling to subsidize her meager teacher salary" is over the line and speculation at this time. It should be known that while in attendance in her class my child absolutely adored her. I have had numerous intelligent conversations with her and I do consider myself to know a good person when I see them. Your ignorance on this matter is astounding. Do you have a glass of wine in the evenings? You might. Do you pop open a bottle at work and start chugging? Definitely not if you want to keep your job. Do you swear whenever you want to at your job? Do you light up a cigarette at your workstation? A little common sense please. I would stake my life she has never walked into the classroom stoned. Don't blur the lines and pretend that your problem is with this amazing teacher and not your ignorance of the facts about marijuana. From what I know Mrs. Tomlinson is an honest, good hearted, hard working and well loved teacher. We should all be so lucky to have someone like her teaching our children. Sounds like your problem is personal and geared towards your uncle, and that it's been festering for over 30 years with you. Not everyone who drinks a beer is an alcoholic. Not everyone who smokes pot is an addict. Judge not, lest ye be judged.  (Aug 27, 2010 | post #9)
