Knee Replacement

blood pooling in knee after stryker tkr

Anita -hi-and Liz is correct, get that 2nd opinion- I dont have infection either and quit doing anything to strenuous this summer and my knee has been lots better, but the test will come in a few weeks when i get back to my linedancing and we are going to Hawaii next week and will try to do a lot of walking so will see if it flares up again.. I dont have infections either, that was ruled out,so after all sorts of tests and nothing they could help with I decided maybe i had put to much pressure on it from the beginning and giving it a rest might help......we'll see?? I have my doubts, will let u all know..also I am developing hammer toes from overcompensating the left leg.....yuck!  (Oct 7, 2012 | post #29)

Knee Replacement

blood pooling in knee after stryker tkr

Update--my bone scan last month showed inflamation but nothing pinpointing the source of the blood leaking.. My Dr.ordered me an MRI, but just got notice from my ins. that it was declined... Since my knee is doing ok for the moment I am going to not fight with them to get it..Getting tired of the run around and paying for Dr visits with no good outcome... will continue to follow these posts and if I have anything helpful to post I will...  (Aug 19, 2012 | post #22)

Knee Replacement

blood pooling in knee after stryker tkr

Hi Liz ahhh finally someone who is experiencing the same thing... I don't have animia, but I have the same crap from the doctors u do-they shrug their shoulders and take your money and say come back in a few months, maybe ? it will resolve itself ? ha! maybe u and I can converse privately, my e-m is [email protected] and between us we can come up with some ideas as to what Dr.s we should consult with.. I went to a pain specialist and he said "this is not right and my Dr. needs to clean up his mess" exact words.. I too have my knee caps but nothing has been said about them being ragged.. How did they detect that? and can they go in and smooth them out or whatever?? hope to hear from you.... misery loves company LOL my Dr.s have said this can lead to an infection which we definitely dont want to get.. I cant believe they are so complacent!! and cant believe some Dr. hasnt seen this post and come up with some advice.. I have posted on several forums and researched...u are first to respond with the blood pooling and not just swelling.. and I havent fallen down or traumatized my knee either... Knee Replacement

blood pooling in knee after stryker tkr

Hi thx for your comments, I have the one that has the blood pooling,, I have currently been seeing an acupuncturist a for last 2 months and she was doing a thing she calls cupping to help relive the pain and pressure it has helped a little I finally got into my surgeon again last week and he ordered some lab work for inflamation and is ordering a bone scan. But is doubtful it will show anything. I will wait to see the results of those and then get into see a different Dr. for another opinion, He did x-rays again of both knees and they show everything is fine... For John I want to say some clicking of your new knees is normal, but they should do followup x-rays to make sure everything is holding toghether. I will keep all posted when find out more.. Unfortunately I am one of those unfortuates in the less then 1.5 percent with this kind of problem.. Jan  (Jun 29, 2012 | post #5)

Knee Replacement

blood pooling in knee after stryker tkr

BLOOD POOLING IN KNEE AFTER TKR!! Hi I am 64 yr old female,In good health. in Sept.2010 I had TKR on left knee then 3 months later had TKR on right knee.. Stryker implants were used for both. They said I was a poster child for both surgeries... I was back to linedancing 6 weeks after each one. I started having problems with my left knee about a month after my 2nd surgery....Numbnes s, pain stiffness, swelling , crunches and buckles..... It hurts when I sleep and just sitting or standing can make it go bad..... I thought it would eventually go away but it hasn't... My Dr. haD x-rayed several times and does not see anything? thinks THE SWELLING maybe blood pooling up..and said to come in when it swells up and they will drain to see.. Well it flared up again and I noticed a big bruise under the front of my knee ....I went back to Dr.in Oct.2011 and they pulled a huge vial of blood from my knee.. - they tested it and there was no infection, thank goodness.. BUT the bruising is always there. I have had multiple xrays and they show nothing? My Dr. said he has only had 2 others like this out of 2000 + surgeries and only 50/50 that surgery would help, and too soon to go back in for surgery...come back this summer.. (BTW he is the best around here and has helped invent the parts.) He did give me a knee brace and that helps a bit for stability, and rx for pain meds, but that is all.. I am in constant pain, and pressure and swelling makes it hard to bend my knee or walk and sleeping is difficult as just having my knee touching my other knee is painful..Yes it feels like my leg is filled with cement.. I have to use a pillow between them and that only helps a little. Would I be wise to seek another Dr. for opinion , or would it be impossible to find one that would get in the middle of this? It’s a small town... Is there other tests that could be done besides xrays to see what the problem is> I have asked them to do some but he says no,there are none. I am beginning to wonder if something was left in there, or he is trying to cover something up. I’m getting mad and worried and frustrated....I can’t imagine there is nothing they can do and I have to suffer with this forever, plus blood pooling in my body doesn't strike me as healthy. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did u do? I don't want to suffer with this from now on....I am in worse pain then ever I was before the surgery's. And when it flares up it is worse then when i was recouping from the surgeries! What would make the blood pool? Can surgery fix this? I am willing to go under the knife if it will fix it...This is miserable!!!!! Has this been a problem in the recall’s??? BTW my right knee is perfect. Any help greatly appreciated so I can be an advocate for myself when i go to see my Dr. again... I just started seeing an acupuncturist, to see if that might help… I am desperate to find some relief… and if others are suffering with this and what they have done. thankyou..Jan  (Apr 26, 2012 | post #1)
