Single mom is asking what the job market is like in the Port Angeles area. I regularly watch the job market and can tell you that the classifieds in the Peninsula Daily news has shrunken significantly. What used to be several columns is now barely 20 ads looking for help on a good day. The number of people competing for those jobs has increased. The same jobs at the hospital have been open for many months and they've recently changed the way that the vacancies are listed so that it's no longer possible to see the date that the job was posted. It's my own feeling that at this time Port Angeles is a place that is better suited for someone who: is retired, doesn't mind driving a long distance to work or someone who telecommutes. We've got great transportation to Seattle and high-speed internet. (Feb 11, 2009 | post #5)
