Attack on three sisters leaves one dead

I don't know about that but at age 32/33, I moved back in with my parents to help take care of them and when my mom died, I still stayed and lived with my dad so he would not be alone.  (Mar 30, 2007 | post #171)

Broward judge in Anna Nicole Smith case accused of smokin...

I did not realize that there were children around. Ok, that changes things a bit for me. I still don't have a problem with people smoking joint, I do have a problem with them doing it around kids. He was probably so stoned he did not realize that he was in a drug free zone. : - )  (Mar 30, 2007 | post #121)

Woman gets 22 years in prison for bank robbery, standoff

Jamie, I am sure you care for your friend. I don't mean to be cruel to you but did you really know your friend that well? Does anyone really know anybody that well? No, we don't, we are all human and we all **** up. That being said, most of us don't **** up to the degree that other people are going to be harmed or killed. She knew it was wrong and she knew she should not have done what she did. She could have easily picked up the phone prior to this and called 9-11 or the tips line and reported what was planned. Had she done that, she would not be where she is now. She chose not to do that and because of her actions alone she is sitting in a jail cell for the next 22 years. I understand the single parent thing, how unfortuanate that your friend did not think of what would happen when she got caught. When your friend left the building she walked out and tried to act like she had nothing to do with what went on in the building. She was thinking and planning, instead of trying to give herself up, she tried to escape. Luckily the cops were paying attention and knew she was not a hostage. Again - Your friend knew what she was doing. She deserves to be in jail. Personally I think 22 years is a long time. I think 5 or 6 would have been enough for her. However, I was not on the jury and I don't know what other information the jury was privvy to that we are not hearing about. Your friend is very lucky no one else (innocent victim) died that day, otherwise, she would be doing life or a death sentence in a cage. The person I feel sorry for is her daughter, not her. I think if I were her friend, I would concentrate on helping her child get through all of her growing up years without her mother. That child will have a tough road ahead of her and that is sad. That child will be scared forever because her mother chose to do something very bad and very stupid. My sympathy is with the child, not your friend.  (Mar 30, 2007 | post #29)

I don't mean any disrespect but the guy was 90 years old. Could a medical condition be the cause? Yeah but I will bet it was that fact that he was a 90 year old man. My sympathy to his family.  (Mar 30, 2007 | post #23)

Ossie why should she be hanged? The boyfriend got his own a,, killed. He knew exactly what he was doing when he did it. He knew the consequences, just like she did. It could have very well been her that got killed. Let the young women go to prison do her time and hopefully she will be young enough when she gets out and hopefully she will have learned from her experience. Hanging her is a bit much.  (Mar 26, 2007 | post #13)

I remember this when it happened. 22 years with time off for good behavior. She'll be out in 15 years maybe less. Hopefully this young lady will turn her life around. She will still be young enough when she gets out to hopefully do something with her life.Sad - because she is so young and should not have done what she did.  (Mar 26, 2007 | post #11)

Forget the lawsuit, what about the people who could have been killed because the cow wandered onto the highway.  (Mar 26, 2007 | post #11)

Broward judge in Anna Nicole Smith case accused of smokin...

Jason, quit arguing with her. She has it in for this judge and she is not going to let it drop. I am wondering if she or someone in her family had to go before him and that is what is at the bottom of the comments. The man is known to be a good judge. Yeah he is a bit strange, however, who is'nt a little weird now and then? If the guy was doing coke, meth, heroin, smoking pot or drinking on the job, I would say, ok he might have a serious problem. Supposedly he was not doing this on the job. Although he is an officer of the court and should act accordinly at all times, I personally would rather the man smoke a joint than go out and get drunk. I hate sloppy drunks. Much rather talk to a stoney. The caps are giving me a headache, glad you said something about it. p.s. you are not going to change her mind, she thinks he is a demon.  (Mar 26, 2007 | post #115)

Actually Katherine they said he was a fantastic judge, it was all over the t.v. and he is very smart and knows the law. If he is smoking pot or drinking on the job (don't think he was) then that would be a problem. However, you are making this a lot bigger than it is. The man was smoking a joint, a joint. He did not have 20 kilos of pot on him. He is not doing nose candy and he is not a meth addict. How do you know he does not have cancer and his doctor told him that he should smoke a joint now and then?  (Mar 26, 2007 | post #114)

You should take a pat on the back for raising such concerned, caring human beings. You have done a great job mom! You are right, your children could have been killed but they were'nt, thank god! Be proud of your kids that they were in the right place at the right time and they are okay. You are also right about people learning about NOT DRINKING AND DRIVING! Thank god your kids did not get hit by another drunk on the road!  (Mar 26, 2007 | post #27)

Orlandoan survives fall from cruise ship

Actually some guardian did save him (maybe a very big angel), most people don't live to talk about that, do they? This guy should be thanking god, higher power, whoever - but he should really be thanking someone he is alive. p.s. I also think he was drinking, got upset and decided to take a jump overboard. I still don't get why he is suing. Oh maybe too much alchohol?  (Mar 26, 2007 | post #118)
