Oak Park couple travel far and wide to buy only from blac...

Why not just live in the Black Community where you are traveling to shop? Why live in Oak Park? You want to live in a nicer, saver, cleaner community with better schools....but you don't want to support the local businesses, because they might not be owned by a black person? Racism at it's finest.  (Mar 9, 2009 | post #1120)

'Ebony Experiment' couple shop here

Why don't each of these businesses try surviving with only black customers? Maybe this family could also try to only provide goods or services to the black community - try to make a living doing things that way. Good luck.  (Mar 9, 2009 | post #26)

Only want to buy black....well then stay in your black community, stay in your black neighborhoods, build black businesses. Keep the crime there with you too. Good luck.  (Mar 9, 2009 | post #501)

Obama unveils $3.5 trillion 'hard choices' budget outline

The Democratic Master Plan is working. Get nearly 60% of the public dependant on the Federal Government, paying ZERO taxes and eating up all the entitlements and benefits. Do all that, and still only get 53% of vote. All that media bias, all the freebies and hand outs and still only 53-54% of the vote. Only now the Master Plan is back firing.....people are getting **** off and that 53% is going to turn into 47% and it will all come to a crashing end, leaving the adults to clean up this enormous mess. What happens when the 2% stop paying those high taxes, just pack up and leave or close up shop? Who pays then?  (Feb 26, 2009 | post #12)

Obama unveils $3.5 trillion 'hard choices' budget outline

Who is cartooning who? There were NOT ANY HARD CHOICES. Increasing spending by 9% during a recession, all of it borrowed a few days after spending 800 Billion on increased spending? Where were the hard choices? "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and those are the one's we are going to focus on" should be the new slogan of the Democratic Socialist Party. We are going down, and we are going down hard.....there is no way to pay off this debt? Think the top 5% can pay if off.....nope. You can take 100% of their income over the next 5 years and not pay off these debts. We are done....thank you idiots for voting for Obama. Hope you got the change you wanted.  (Feb 26, 2009 | post #10)

Illini DT Brent suspended from team after DUI arrest

So, this article get's put on the FRONT PAGE of the Tribune Website, but the article about the Illini Basketball win over Ohio State doesn't even get listed under the sports heading? What is wrong with the Tribune? When will you realize that the Chicago Tribune is based in Illinois, not South Bend?  (Feb 23, 2009 | post #25)

Interesting, the is another article in today's Tribune talking about the crumbling waterways and the need for $12Billion to the Army Corp of Engineers to fix them. Talking about a disaster waiting to happen.....maybe these two reporters should compare notes.  (Feb 23, 2009 | post #1)

Illinois edges Ohio State 70-68

They can't forget Penn State yet. They still have to go play them on the road in a couple games. Better to keep that 33 point effort at least in the back of their minds as they try to close out the season and somehow catch MSU.  (Feb 22, 2009 | post #2)

Distressed homeowners fight foreclosure by taking their l...

AND, I'm really sorry that someone either didn't tell you that "you can't affort this loan" or you just didn't listen. Either way, YOU and ONLY YOU are to blame. It's a damn shame that personal responsibility has left the building!! Thanks, you are among the millions of idiots who got us in this big mess. Trying to live beyond your means. Ignorance is bliss.  (Feb 22, 2009 | post #17)

You freaking people can't pay your bills, and now you want to blame it on the lenders. Good grief, maybe you should have had your lawyer with you when you signed the mortgage documents in the first place? Were you too cheap, or just too stupid to do this?  (Feb 22, 2009 | post #16)

Illini DT Brent suspended from team after DUI arrest

Why do all these college athletes have suspended drivers licenses? And why are they driving? This seems to be an epidemic at Illinois. How many is this now between the Basketball and Football teams?? Hey Gunther - maybe you should make your student athletes take a course on the importance of having a drivers license if you are going to drive a car. Oh, and maybe through in a chapter on not drinking and driving. This is getting way, way out of hand.  (Feb 22, 2009 | post #7)

NY Post cartoon appears to link Obama to chimp that maule...

SCREW THE NAACP - this was a political cartoon mocking congress, not Obama. What should have been read into this is that "because congress is a bunch of idiots who put this bill together behind closed doors" that EVEN A MONKEY COULD HAVE DONE IT. **** didn't even write the bill.......how can it be a racist mockery of him? Guess what.....let's get rid of the NAACP before we get rid of political satire.  (Feb 22, 2009 | post #440)

Mark Sanchez would be steal for Chicago Bears

The Bears need at least two Offensive Linemen out of this draft, and it would be great to get someone who can step in and start with the 18th pick. A new QB won't help if there isn't anyone to block up front.  (Feb 19, 2009 | post #16)
