How about the tax exemption for donations to religion (not church-based charities)? Do you agree with that?  (22 hrs ago | post #178)

White People Are Uniquely Homophobic

If you are really thirteen your mama should not let you be posting on topic boards, for your own protection.  (Yesterday | post #107)

More likely, and using a Greek rather than a Latin construction, you are an Ailurophage, since you see cats as prey animals.  (Yesterday | post #106)

Carrie Prejean: Christians Can Get Breast Implants

Gee, wonder if those sacks of silicone come in different varieties: Catholic: sprinkled with holy water at time of manufacture Protestant: covered in white plastic with bible verses. Mormon: the bottom halves are wrapped in little trousers before they are inserted into the patient Jewish: mezuzahs are attached to each one Muslim: each implant is wrapped in black cloth before use Eastern Orthodox: They come with an underwire bra implant so they can't "sit down." Hindu: Most of them are re-used from deceased patients. The more times they are recycled the better they are considered to be. Buddhist: The patient is instructed to secretly write her mantra on each one before insertion. Shinto: Each implant is topped off with a bit of sake before being encased so that it will have a spirit. Zoroastrianism: The patient receives one extremely good quality implant and one that will cause breast cancer. Rastafarianism: Silicone? No way, mon, we use ganga to fill them. Indigenous North American Religion: Each bag of silicone is put in a steamer for twelve hours to purify it.  (Yesterday | post #14)

Applauds For Mormon Church's Support of Civil Rights Measures, ...

I am waiting for the day when the elders get a message from Mr. and Mrs. God that gays can be priests and that deceased gay/lesbian couples need to be sealed. Following which sacred underwear will be offered in thong, jockstrap and bikini varieties in multiple colours.  (Yesterday | post #11)

DADT Likely to Be Part of Defense Bill

Unfortunately, this way of sneaking the repeal through also helps assure that many more Americans of all sexual orientations will be coming home from Poppyseedstan in boxes.  (Yesterday | post #10)

Gay Funeral Rights Bill Vetoed By Rhode Island Governor

Wrong - you'll find lots of rednecks in Calgary, which was largely populated by Americans. Fortunately the ultra-right ones, who even have a political party, are not very numerous. But Alberta tends to be pretty conservative. As for the rest of the country, from what I've come to understand during my time here, is that the other prairie provinces outside indigenous populated regions plus lots of farm-country Ontario are also very conservative in nature. Toronto, Ottawa/Gatineau, the Maritimes, and so on are generally more liberal in voting patterns. The separatists have a special agenda so are hard to classify but they seem to be pro-gay.  (Yesterday | post #23)

Osteen: Gays Aren't "God's Best"

Please do a bit more research into mathematics, logic and philosophy. I am an atheist like you, but please remember that we as atheists can only state that we do not believe there is a god. The existence of one or more deity's is neither possible to prove or disprove. What can, of course, be deduced by scientific logic is that any Creator(s) do not involve themselves with day to day affairs in the universe, much less those of humans.  (Yesterday | post #1017)

The Shame and Betrayal of Maine's New England Values

As for restrictions on development, offer a carrot as well as a stick by encouraging density in urban areas with tax breaks, etc. Same with moderate income housing.  (Yesterday | post #100)

Not doing anything is more disasttrous. And how would be people telecommuting be that hard on businesses? It would even allow them to draw talent they might not otherwise be able to because of geography?  (Yesterday | post #99)

Catholic Church gives D.C. ultimatum on same-sex marriage issue

Hm, they have a lovely basilica in the city. It is very large and might make a great auditorium if taken by eminent domain. The government of the United States needs to start thinking more like that of a certain king with six wives.  (Thursday | post #62)

Start 'A Day in Hand' Chapter in Your Area

I don't even like the idea of public displays of affection - it makes adults look like a bunch of mooning adolescents. I guess it's okay to hold hands walking in a park, but this is one issue I cannot get really excited about. I agree with Scotty.  (Thursday | post #2)

3 men charged in Mont. Co. hate crime

You gays down there should think about doing just that. Cut the "gentle angry people" cr*p now that you have a president and a congress who are alledgedly on the side of gays, just as the Black Power people continued MLK's work after his death, albeit in a way he would not have liked. But their riots got the job done!  (Thursday | post #13)
