Wrong - you'll find lots of rednecks in Calgary, which was largely populated by Americans. Fortunately the ultra-right ones, who even have a political party, are not very numerous. But Alberta tends to be pretty conservative. As for the rest of the country, from what I've come to understand during my time here, is that the other prairie provinces outside indigenous populated regions plus lots of farm-country Ontario are also very conservative in nature. Toronto, Ottawa/Gatineau, the Maritimes, and so on are generally more liberal in voting patterns. The separatists have a special agenda so are hard to classify but they seem to be pro-gay.  (Yesterday | post #23)
