The world's cheapest city

First of all...."archi tects" only build something in asuncion...and they are rather expensive. OUTSIDE ASUNCION....99% of the houses are being built without an architect...so pls donīt spend your $$ on architects!! The main problem here is the workmentality....i f building workers say something will be finished in 2 months....count on it it will take 4 months;-) Johan  (Dec 22, 2010 | post #54)

Free Health Care in Paraguay

Sure there is "free" health care....if you are willing to wait 4-6 hours (or more) to get attended by a doctor. In the private healthcare nothing is free....and in fact is even more expensive then in Western-Europe. Most "doctors " are only intrested in your wallet and tell you all kinds of BS in order to take more money form you. If you ever want to emigrate to PY youīd better be young and healthy....if you know what I am saying. Johan  (Dec 22, 2010 | post #10)

Paraguay

The world's cheapest city

I am living here since march 2009...and one thing became clear to me: Asuncion is FAR from being cheap if you want to own a DECENT HOUSE in a normal neighborhood!!! Average prices range from 80.000 to even 200.000 USD...!!! I wouldnīt call that "cheap" in a country were the minimum wages are just 300 USD/month. And most people donīt get much more then that.
