NewsOn6.com no longer uses topix.net (Oct 29, 2010 | post #6)
I had to sign in to Topix.com so that I could post a comment here. No one will see this comment on the NewsOn6.com website. (Oct 26, 2010 | post #63)
The comment section now on the official website is difficult to read since the color of the type font is very light gray. (Oct 26, 2010 | post #62)
I wish Channel 6 would stop trying to be the whole world's TV station. I do wish that if a report from it's OKC sister station is know on KOTV, one would not have to go to the OKC TV station's website to post a comment on it. I asked a weather person on another Tulsa station, "Why do you meteorologists in Tulsa say when it is raining in Dallas, 'We are having rain in Dallas,' when you are in Tulsa, Oklahoma?" He misunderstood my comment. I told him that it was okay to mention current weather situations elsewhere and say things like, "It is raining in Dallas." (Oct 25, 2010 | post #38)
Are they going to talk about teaching children not to bully someone because they think the person might be a homosexual or because the person is openly gay? And, are they going to talk about children who bully the siblings of older brothers or sisters who are gay? Several years ago, a brother and sister in a Sapulpa, Oklahoma elementary school were picked on because their brother who was in high school was bullied because he was gay. (Oct 25, 2010 | post #1)
This would have been interesting to see. I did wear a military style uniform LIKE American war correspondents wore when I was a non-speaking extra in the miniseries, "War and Remembrance." I don't have any of the uniforms that I wore in the US Army and in Vietnam in the 1960s. (Oct 23, 2010 | post #1)
Anyone can claim to be a "Christian; but, it is NOT scripturally correct to call oneself by THAT hateful epithet created by Greek-Speaking pagans in Antioch, Syria to make fun of those who preached about the "Anointed One" (that's "Christos " in Greek). Jesus' followers in the New Testament period (1st Century AD) called themselves "Believers. " There isn't any word in that Bible that means "Christianity " either. (Oct 22, 2010 | post #14)
Jesus was only a baby for about 3 years. He grew up and became a man. Of course, Jesus was normal as a human being and as a baby he cried, too. There is no sense in spending any more money on that church building when there are so many poor and homeless people in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Christian Chapel Assembly of God (where I vote) recently finished a 3 million dollar addition to its existing building. I just checked the church's calendar and there's not enough activity going on there this month to even justify building that. (Oct 22, 2010 | post #13)
There is no need for schools to even have football teams. No school was created for the purpose of having sports teams. (Oct 21, 2010 | post #5)
If the school system doesn't actually have a special needs program for those students, it should be okay IF the school that the child will attend is NOT a church sponsored school. I don't approve of using public tax money to support "Christian " schools. (Oct 21, 2010 | post #6)
I thought that 10:00 or 11:00 PM was the curfew time for River Parks. The man and the woman who was with him also need to be ticketed for breaking the law. (Oct 21, 2010 | post #47)
The North entrance to the parking lot of the building is downhill to the lot. I don't know what idiot claimed people were trapped in the building. We do have people living here who should be in a nursing home. If the car had crashed into the building going straight ahead, it would not have hit the outside wall of any apartment. The windows where you see the reflections are like large patio windows with the downstairs entrance under the stairs that was hit. There is an enclosed walkway between the North wing of the main building and the East-West North Wing. I was down in the lobby when the cops came into the building. It was odd that they went to the south end of the complex rather than the north. The owner of the car, a fairly new one, apparently lives on the southern end of the building. (Oct 20, 2010 | post #3)
Those of you who use made up screen names which are not even registered with topix.com shouldn't complain about people in the ads not being teachers. Oklahoma does need to improve its educational system. A school administrator can be the superintendent of a local school district. A superintendent should not be paid very much more that the highest paid teacher in his school district. When parents put their children in private schools and don't send them to the local public school, the local public has less money to spend since schools get money based on average daily attendance. Why don't you folks who believe in the freedom of speech use your real names and register them with topix.com? (Oct 15, 2010 | post #8)
In the US Military Courts-Martial System, the accused is considered guilty until proven innocent. I know that for a fact because I worked for JAG Officers (lawyers) when I was in the US Army stationed in S. Vietnam. I was even a bailiff at 3 manslaughter courts-martial. (Oct 14, 2010 | post #55)
