Chiefs president and GM Peterson stepping down

Their offense suprisingly is coming along toward the end of the season. But the defense, that's their downside. That D still has a ton of holes and most likely will be looked at with this next nfl draft 09. Wont be surprised to see Chiefs go after Rey Maualuga SC linebacker to build their D around.  (Dec 19, 2008 | post #5)

Oklahoma RB Murray to miss title game with injury

Have you seen the man play? He is a Beast! NFL in the waiting... But your right the pass a lot, so Bradford might have a big game with his Steller WR Iglesies.  (Dec 19, 2008 | post #6)

Yeah true, coaching is vital not only for the success of the program but for excelling one's football abilities. Under good coaching a good player can become a great player, under average coaching a good player pretty much stays at that level.  (Dec 19, 2008 | post #42)

Union City woman held after skirmish at gas pump

"Nearly hitting one of them with her minivan." Wow, that's a little extreme now. A shove I can take, but a minivan, the old woman must of been really really mad.  (Dec 17, 2008 | post #1)

True... But there are some who are from the islands and are now playing in the NFL. But I can agree with the transition being pretty rough coming off the islands and playing with mainland boys. But the one's who don't get phased and try their best, only good will come of it.  (Dec 16, 2008 | post #36)

Should Vick be allowed to resume NFL career?

Well we will never see another player of Micheal Vick's caliber again. I do kinda miss those highlight running plays of the M.Vick Experience! lol. Esp. that one commercial on the rollercoaster ride of M.Vick experience; a classic!  (Dec 16, 2008 | post #185)

Yeah, I have no clue about how the process for the selection of the players goes about. But in my opinion, for them to save some $$$, they'd just select the majority of local players nearby to play. Because I'm pretty sure it would cost some $$$ to pay for some travel expenses for some of the mainland kids. Unless, they are paying for themselves, I might be wrong. But damn it does cost a good amount of $$$ to travel to Hawaii, lol... And we are not all Richie Richie's.  (Dec 16, 2008 | post #34)

Should Vick be allowed to resume NFL career?

Yeah seriously bro. I'm not going to say animal cruelty is bad n' all, but come on now. Vick paid enough for stuff he barely didn't even know was going on, and it was his "friends " spending "his" money in "his house" that he probably didn't even visit most of the time. He was a scapegoat for the NFL and law enforcement to use, to make a statement to the other high profile multi millionairs of the nfl , that if you mess up and do something wrong or "stupid" you will get punished. And that even though they are "sports stars" they are still subject to the law. Give the man a 2nd chance, he won't end up being a "Pacman" I can gaurentee you that. Pacman who I believe got away with tons of petty crimes.  (Dec 16, 2008 | post #178)

Seriously sometimes it's best to look outside the Island for talented QB's, since in part that is one of the more important positions in football, esp. in the kind of offense that UH runs in the spread system. Even some CC school's end up producing good QB's that often get overlooked. For instance, Jeremiah Masoli came out of CCSF and went from 5string on Oregon Ducks squad to starter who has passed over 2000 yards, 19TD's while only starting in the later half of the season. Not saying you can find jems like this in CC's, but there is talented players all over, you just got to make the effort to find them. Though it does take time and money, and in this economic turmoil that we face finding adequate resources fund recruiting efforts like this may be to steep of a price to pay. But in the long run it will only help benefit the team. Football is only half the battle, "Recruiting " is the other half. joda  (Dec 16, 2008 | post #31)

I have a friend in Texas, his kid goes to Trinity High School, currently ranked #1 in the nation in HS Football, via Rivals.com. Anyways, he tells me that his kid comes home in the beginning of the week with a DVD on game tape of their next upcoming opponent. He kid then studies the film throughout the week, trying to find tendencies in the opponent's game. Not to mention that they have individual schedules of practices, workouts, training, film session meetings, etc. Now I'm not saying that its like this everywhere for all high school football teams, but this is just a simple example of how some teams train and prepare here in the states. As for the Hawai'i/Polynesia team not consisting of the "Best" Polynesia players, I have to say that their were in fact some left off, who are pretty good, and have ethnic polynesian backgrounds. Here are some Poly's that were left off the team: LT Filiaga South Jordan (UT) Bingham MLB 5-10/231 T.J. Alofipo Las Vegas (NV) Silverado MLB 6-2/240 Taniela Maka Long Beach (CA) Jordan MLB 6-1/220 Moses Alipate Bloomington (MN) Jefferson QB 6-5/230 Levine Toilolo San Diego (CA) Helix TE 6-8/239 Morrell Presley Carson (CA) Carson TE 6-4/215 Jon Halapio St. Petersburg (FL) Catholic OL 6-4/302 Fono Vakalahi Bryan (TX) Bryan OL 6-4/317 Tui Crichton Provo (UT) Timpview OL 6-4/280 Jeremiah Tofaeono North Las Vegas (NV) Cheyenne OL 6-5/320 Kapua Sai Honolulu (HI) St. Louis OL 6-5/322 Peni Maka'afi Layton (UT) Northridge RB 5-11/215 Anthony Heimuli Orem (UT) Mountain View RB 5-11/229 Talia Crichton Lakewood (CA) Lakewood SDE 6-4/245 Latu Heimuli Salt Lake City (UT) Highland DT 6-2/296 Siosaia Tuipulotu Euless (TX) Trinity DT 6-2/285 Sione Tuihalamaka Gardena (CA) Junipero Serra DT 6-2/275 Rodrick Tuisavalo Las Vegas (NV) Rancho DT 6-1/275 Kapono Asuega Orange (CA) Lutheran DT 6-0/269 William Hodgman Oakland (CA) Bishop O'Dowd DT 6-4/321 Steven Fanua Milipitas (CA) Milpitas OLB 6-1/200 Liloa Nobriga Las Vegas (NV) Palo Verde OLB 6-1/211 Jamal Atofau Bellevue (WA) Bellevue Safety 5-10/175 I'm not saying they are all elite poly players, but they should be worth taking a look at. And I can assure you that some of these kids are no push-overs either. But all I'm trying to say is that they did not get all the "Best" talent that our culture has to offer. While the mainland team consisted of some of the "Best" talents from "Down-South. " I tell you them country boys no joke, lol. By the way bro, I follow Polynesians in Football "Religiously. " So don't get me started, lol. I can go on all day long.
