She didn't describe her as a best friend/close friend but as a lifelong friend... That may have something to do with it.  (Feb 18, 2013 | post #12)

We got about 7 inches in upstate New York. We went outside to start shoveling and this beautiful man pulled up in his truck and plowed our driveway for us! It was awesome and saved us like 2 hours of work!  (Feb 9, 2013 | post #79983)

Here's the breakdown for retirement 20 years= 50% of pay averaged over last 3 years of service You can take a redux at 15 years which we did that will lower that to 40% (redux= advancement on retirement) 30 years= 75% of pay averaged over last 3 years of service whether redux was taken or not 40 years = 100% of pay averaged over last 3 years of service whether redux was taken or not Hope that helps :)  (Feb 4, 2013 | post #22)

I haven't read all the comments yetso I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but there is something she can do. have him do an asumption on the loan. I don't know if it requires a refinance bu he can assume the full responsibility for th loan and let her put of the contract. it's not a simple process and will require his participation but it would be worth it.  (Apr 21, 2011 | post #58)

everything listed is great for soldiers... don't know if it was said but slim jims/ beef jerky are good and any kind of microwavable popcorn or such. Hubby had me send home microwavable pork rinds! very disgusting to me, but I guess he liked them. it takes around two weeks for packages to get to soldiers in some places if not longer so make sure home baked goods can keep for extended periods. phones cards in some places need to have international rates on them, AT&T makes a good one, I think. that's all the extra stuff I can think of... Brother deploys in two weeks so I need to refreshy list soon. we managed to get a non-deployable unit so I get to keep the hubs around for at least 1 more year!! YEAH!!  (Apr 19, 2011 | post #32)

I work in telecommunications and our job title is customer service rep so she prob works on the phone. Unless she cursed on the phone or said something offensive she would have probably just been wrote up. And yes, every call is recorded so we can pull that up later and listen if needed. One of these things are probably what happened for her to be fired so quickly.  (Mar 25, 2011 | post #41)

My mom and my sister have tried to watch "Tiptoe through the Tulips" 3 times and whenever it got to a certain part I would injure myself bad enough to require a hospital visit. They don't try anymore. ha ha  (Mar 23, 2011 | post #46025)

My grandpa's first name was Laverel Bryan. He went by Bud almost his whole life. His twin brother's name was Lavern William, he went by Bill but married a Shirley. lol  (Nov 2, 2010 | post #35)

Amy 10-31-10 BOO!

I was always tired of this, so I was talking to this guy and asked what idiot thought up that idea of pants below your butt and he told me... it started in prisons. guys wore their pants like that to signal when they didn't have a boyfriend. If they had a boyfriend they pulled their pants back up. Now how's that for a PSA? :)  (Oct 31, 2010 | post #34)

Dear Abby 10-26

I was 9 when I hit puberty. when from flat to B cup in about a month and then Aunt Flo visited. I also got my first grey hair that year. It sucked because boys were just noticing us girls and I became the freak. I think I was a C-cup by jr high and a D-cup when I graduated. Luckily even after 2 kids and gaining "some" weight I am only a DD.  (Oct 26, 2010 | post #57)

The Hubs was next to broke when we got engaged so mu first engagement ring was from wal-mart. It had a real diamond but very very tiny. I love that ring. But when we very quickly decided to get married I took him to Zales where we got a joint credit card and bought a set for about $1600.00. It's still not big but fits my hand perfectly. I still pull out my original engagemt ring to wear when I can. It's too small for my fingers now, but when I lose this weight I will probably wear it more often.  (Oct 19, 2010 | post #35)
