Many surprised by Obama's Nobel Prize

Negative. What a way to diminish the importance of the Nobel Peace Prize. Really? Ghandi=nObama?? All the while sitting on the afghanistan and iraq wars.  (Oct 10, 2009 | post #67)

Jury set to mull Fierro case for third day

Luckily for your embarrassment and mine, this story hasn't gone national yet... New Mexico is already the laughing stock of the rest of the country in so many ways...  (Oct 1, 2009 | post #59)

Jury set to mull Fierro case for third day

The writing has been on the wall on this case since the beginning. Who else has ever been locked up in the drunk tank with their cell phones? Who else has ever been arrested for dwi where the case was never prosecuted? Who else has ever successfully argued that the victim, a pedestrian walking across a street with a 20 mph speed limit, was a "substantial contributor" to his own death? Yes. The victim is obviously guilty of being hit by a drunk LAWYER. The DA's office so badly handled this case, they all need to be tossed into the RGR. Off the RGB. Only in New Mexico. It's the way wee doo et. "New Mexico. Not much different than the old one".  (Oct 1, 2009 | post #58)

Domestic partnerships back on agenda

"In February, a domestic partnership bill failed on a 17-25 vote in the Senate. In that vote, 10 of the 27 Democrats in the Senate joined all 15 Republicans in opposition" Why are we doing this again so soon??  (Sep 30, 2009 | post #69)

Preventing suicide by design

Well, at least we won't have to worry about the bridge being a tourist attraction anymore. Heck, i feel that if you're suicidal, what better place to jump than the rio grande bridge. But, our overprotective do gooder parents are here to protect us from ourselves again, by spending big bucks to solve a non-problem. So, all you suicidal types planning on jumping from the bridge remember, bring your fence cutters! I'm sure those "three people per year" can find another way to do themselves in. for which case, i propose we wrap everything in bubble wrap.  (Sep 29, 2009 | post #22)

Families waiting for developmental disabilities services feel b...

Actually, the money was already earmarked for this purpose and voted on by us and approved. This is why I never ever vote for government to spend money. They can't be responsible enough and It is never used for it's intended purposes. School bonds, a new fire house, improved 911 service, etc... we foolishly vote to approve funding for these things yet the recipients never ever get it... VOTE NO!! Oh, and btw, your conservative state of Colorado is NOT broke. Only and mostly liberal states, such as Illinois, michigan, cali, and New Mexico are broke. Not Co, OK, TX... wonder why?  (Sep 28, 2009 | post #22)

Panel ponders sites for state 'supercomplex'

No, no, no... You don't understand the difference between a budget and "capital outlay". Duh! These projects don't require money to be done! They are done with "capital outlay". Now do you understand? It's okay, it'll be alright. Go drink your cool-aid.  (Sep 24, 2009 | post #12)

Union leaders from around the county study 2003 Santa Fe wage f...

Union's for what? we don't manufacture anything in this town. Union organizing has nothing to do with socialism. they are nothing more than a third party vying for a share of your paycheck. Usually with the included FALSE belief of job protection. Unions do not care about you nor your relationship with your bosses. Only their cut.  (Sep 18, 2009 | post #25)

Police investigate fatal beating

I still can't figure out what this crime has to do with fiestas. other than timing. I believe this crime has more to do with the sorry state of our police force and attitudes about crime and the cities insistence on being a sanctuary city than it does the fiestas. Sanctuary from what? is what i'd like to know... We are nothing but sheep. YOU ALL KNOW someone had to see something. Oh, and "Hate"? crime?? like somehow your unique situation (whatever that may be, race, sexual orientation, blah, blah, blah) places a higher value on your life than others? I find the whole concept of hate crimes prejudiced and insulting. All violent crime is a hate crime. Terminally Unique. It's a psychological term, google it. In the meantime, one of our brothers is gone. mourn him.  (Sep 14, 2009 | post #54)

Police investigate fatal beating

Here's a phrase our new police spokesperson, Jason Wagner, might want to learn... "no comment". That would have been way better and much more ethical than "technically he's still alive" hours after being pronounced dead. Yeah, no witnesses on sandoval and water street at 8:40 on a friday night. makes perfect sense. And what about the hotels security, "take it outside". How weak is that? If that security officer were a bar tender, in the city of "pass the responsibility ", he'd be guilty of causing the death! In the meantime, our city is over run by thugs and weak, weak, weak in police protection. And i'm not talking about police bullying, i'm talking about having enough qualified officers willing to do the job for a LIVING wage. not the peanuts we pay them now...  (Sep 14, 2009 | post #50)
